Yeeeeaaahhhh gonna take that with a grain of salt.
It's certainly possible, but we've also seen how Tony treats anybody who doesn't want to be in his company or speaks negatively about him.
He absolutely comes off as the "Fine, I didn't wanna go to prom with you anyways!" type.

Isn't there still some questioning as to whether he expired or got released?
Tony had claimed a few years ago that Malakai was signed until 2027. So if he's legitimately gone from AEW either Tony's statement was false or he got released, and we all know how much TK likes releasing talent.
That would make sense if he wasn't liked. Then again, he can not be liked and still be told to stay home for the next two years.

Or better yet do wife swaps, if we overlook the fact Miro and CJ split, Mia Yim to Miro, CJ to Black, and Zelina to Keith Lee, you could make it fish out of water stories, like MIa herding goats in Bulgaria or whatever Miro is doing over there, CJ being the prissy girl to Black's dark occultist, and I guess Zelina could sit on the couch and play video games with Keith Lee, so that one isn't too much of a stretch for her
Damn, don't leave out Starks and Fenix.
They're all sequestered to a remote island and cannot leave unless they sign an NDA. The mystery is which one of them is leaking information about the island to a rogue ne'er-do-well named "Effy".
Don't know how reliable but I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that Black is a free agent in February. So take that with a big grain of salt.
Also TK may have included option years when talking about Black's contract?
Possible. But from past contracts I've only heard of it being Tony's option, not the talent's.
