All Purpose 2025 Scoreboard/Standings Watch Thread - Hopes Deleted

Gregor just posted Calgary needs to go 8-2 down the stretch and hope for some luck.
Fun season y'all, but when it comes down to it this team just didn't have the goods for the level. Lots of points given away, lots of games fumbled, not enough talent to keep up with the big clubs.

So the 10 game winning streak to end the season will be overkill?

The only way this team could put together a 10 game win streak is if were were already mathematically eliminated from the playoffs; and the 13th pick of the draft was on the line. Then you know we'd go hard down the stretch to ensure we didn't see a top 7 pick or anything.

Really depends on what the Wild do. If they continue to spiral it might not even be that much. I think 7-3 does it.

My least favourite stage of playoff elimination is the bargaining stage. Been there

But the Avs are going to blast us for 6 and Marky is sure to pull a Marky tonight and that’ll be the nail in the coffin we need to just focus on getting some prospects up to play out the string

The Wild play three desperate teams in a row here coming up, and then San Jose. It's entirely possible that by the time the Flames play the Wild, they will have their destiny back within their own hands.

Every loss is a nail in the coffin, though, so the Flames better just ignore the race and focus on winning each game by any means necessary. If they do, things will probably work out IMO.

Boggles my mind how excited people were this morning to try to bury the Flames just because the scheduling worked out with such a large GP gap at this time of year.

How much longer are the Blues going to keep scoring on every sixth shot they take while also receiving .940 SV% goaltending? It's actually ridiculous this team is 5 points out right now. That team is due for a PDO swing in the other direction. Let's hope it begins tonight.

Never thought I'd be watching a Minnesota / Isles game in April on purpose this season, yet here we are.

I’m right there with ya, bud lmao 💪🏼😂

Actually a decent game so far, some pretty good chances for the Isles, and a PP coming up! I didn’t realize that they’ve lost six straight coming into this one, they need to dig deep and help us out here lol I also didn’t realize Matt Martin still plays 🥊

The Flames have their fate in their own hands.

And really given the Wild couldn't get themselves up to beat a team that was effectively dead in the water, it's not like they're going to run the table with the games they have left. The Flames can probably afford to drop 1-2 more games and still be in decent shape as long as they beat the Wild in the head to head meeting.

We still pretty much need to win the next five (VGK, SJ, ANA, MIN, SJ) and hope the Wild don’t win more than two of their next four (DAL, SJ, CGY, VAN). Suffice it to say, tomorrow is a huge game.

If the flames win out, then they are in. Winning the 2 games in hand puts them 1 back while they have a head to head that can then flip them 1 ahead if they match minnys point total in all the other games.

Our last two games of the regular season are against the GKnights (again) and the Kings. Let’s just say I’m hoping they’ll be resting their starters for those games lol 😅🙏🏼

I think Calgary has to go 6-1 (the loss can't be against Minny) and the Wild have to play .500 for us to pass them. Every additional loss they have gives us a small cushion.
