That was a fun spot. The playful bonks and then just a brutal bump.

I enjoyed Ibushi walking around the ring hitting himself in the head with a sign. Reminded me of him jumping into the tacks at Blood & Guts just because. The crazy, comedic, hardcore character is always good for a few laughs.

Honestly the funniest part of the match was him not understanding that Kenny wanted to do the cross corner double moonsault and he was just standing there shrugging his shoulders :laugh:

He did get clobbered off the bike, Brian Cage actually got some good offense in and looked pretty good even if he was the guy who took the pin

Mercedes just made some comments about looking forward to getting back in 2024, of course it could be an attempt to throw people off the scent, but I think she made the remarks before Tony announced the news

Who realistically fits the "one of the best wrestlers" and "respected by everyone" criteria?

Ospreay - he's been rumored for a bit
Giulia - Is she a free agent? I've never seen her but most if not all rave about her
Mercedes - she's been rumored a bit too, but does she want to lock herself down to a US promotion?
Hammerstone? he was trying to get a release, does he fit the criteria?
Ryback - neither good or respected
Goldberg - not good, somewhat respected
Brock? could he be available?
Mickie James supposedly just left Impact
Riddle - has the talent, not sure the respect
Ronda Rousey - has talent but I don't know
 
I think I read that Brock is set to return for Mania season and has creative ready to go.

Mickie James I think is a solid guess. I've seen some speculate Chris Hero gets an in ring contract, or Vikingo gets a full time contract (would be disappointments).

The tweet screams Ziggler to me, but he is still under his non-compete.

I think it needs to be Ospreay to avoid people being upset. Especially since it's confirmed to not be Mercedes
 
Callahan would be disappointing too...feel like they've far reduced the blood matches only to bring in another that does them...

That was the moment i had to pause and think to myself “this match is just a mess.” It took them an extra moment, or ten, to figure it out, but they eventually got there. Timing was horrendous but the spots worked and both were caught by closer cameras. It would’ve been glorious to have it be synchronized for the hard cam, but oh well.

Overall, it was a fine Wednesday night main event. Far from perfect. But still enjoyable enough for me

This is probably a real longshot but does anyone know of a bar or restaurant in Hamilton that's showing Full Gear (I am in town for the Grey Cup)?
 
If it is that individual will they attack someone in one of the matches after their signing is announced or will Tony wait until Wednesday to begin their build to the December PPV?

Maybe reach out to @RingsideBobby on Twitter to see if he is aware of anywhere to watch the event. The only location in the region for AEW events I was aware of was Landmark Cinemas in Kitchener however they are now closed.
