Last 2 dynamites have been really enjoyable. Some bleh spots.

Was gonna post last night that the JAS/Blackpool angle is tired then Punk came out. I feel a Mox heel turn. Omega back soon. The tornado tag was awesome. Again the whole Athena gimmick is annoying. Was she like this in WWE? Love danhausen.
 
I think it’s setting up more for Punk to lose and then turn heel

I wouldn't say she was annoying, but she was always a very poor promo. That and injuries are the main reasons why she never got the big push.

That would be kinda dumb. They can milk Punk as the babyface champion for a while and THEN do that.

Moxley does not need to go over Punk.

It will be a one-off for now, they can go babyface vs babyface. Those two guys can make it work on the mike.
 
Read people predicting a MJF return during the title match at all out.

Probably dumb but I wouldnt just bring him back. Maybe these upcoming weeks have someone stalk both Punk and Mox. After their match they shake hands or whatever maybe lights go out and someone attacks them both in a ski mask revealing himself to be MJF. Then can start an angle like MJF was tired of being taken off TV its his time now yadayada

I don't know what you do with Jade right now. She is losing steam, and I don't think keeping this streak going long term is going to do her any favors.

Statlander was the obvious choice to beat her but that's not happening now. They don't have anyone else built up to beat her. My guess is they just have Athena do it, but she really shouldn't.

Hayter could be a good choice as she is more over with people then Athena, but got to do the spilt with Britt to finally make that happen.

Rosa's run has been a mess. Idk what you do with that, and they have done an awful job of getting anyone in a position to fix it outside of I guess putting it back on Britt briefly and having Hayter turn and take the belt off Britt?

Britt has to learn to cut promos without burying her opponents. Lot of that stuff has done Rosa zero favors here.

I've seen people say he costs Mox and they feud? I mean sure I guess you could do that, but idk.

I don't have any good fantasy booking ideas for MJF right now. The only thing off a shoot promo like that that made sense to me was him to challenge for the belt and threaten to take the belt and leave. With Punk as champ that seemed potentially interesting.

That's the problem with "shoot" promos. They can be super engaging in the moment but are real difficult to weave back into a storyline. It's doable but it's not easy, and him being gone for 10 weeks doesn't help
 
Coffin match was good. Was the real main event from an actual entertainment standpoint. I was really hoping Miro would be involved. Then later they had his promo talking about Black...

Punk's return was pretty good. That should be pretty entertaining, though I find Moxley kind of dull in the ring.

What has Toni done to deserve to be a champ?

Keeping the belt on Baker to this point is pure Charlotte booking. It was too long when she finally dropped it, it would have been way too long for her to still have it.

I don't think Storm should win the title right now. I'd just like to see her win sometime down the road. I'm a fan of her work although I haven't seen much. Not sure if she has much character or not.

I think Baker just had the "it factor" and star quality that Charlotte lacks. The problem is they never built any challenger up to legitimately beat Baker. It seems they just did a title change for the sake of a title change. I feel like the title lost value once Rosa won it.

Thunder Rosa got it, really, because of the lights out match they did on St. Patrick’s Day last year and they kept the two away from each other to let it simmer thinking she would be over huge, which worked the night she won but not at all since. The TBS title feels more important, they should just have Jade win both belts.

Britt also has no steam and is mid as hell right now. They want the split with Jamie Hayter to be big and it’s not gonna hit like it did with Wardlow.

I almost don’t even wanna see a dramatic split. I don’t find it believable anymore. They waited too long. I’d rather just see them split off like FTR from MJF.

One pattern AEW has is that they usually make the babyface chase good (Hangman, Rosa) and then fail to deliver on the title reign.

Shida's reign was better than Rosa's, but wayyyyyyyyy behind Baker's.

I agree that Mox's reign was a very good babyface reign. He has not been as compelling since losing the title, I think.

FTR told MJF on tv that they’re friends with both him and Wardlow and they would not be getting involved in the drama between the two. That’s the last I remember before their current run.

A big part of that was their own fault. Rosa was never consistently on TV between the lights out match and when she finally won the belt. Hell her TV time as champ hasn't been all that great either.

This does happen with the men, but it's way more prevalent with how the women are booked where everyone not named Britt or Jade vanish for weeks at a time to the youtube shows.

There is an overall issue where they let things simmer for too long and cool people off as a result. Was an issue with Page IMO. Felt like it was happening to Statlander before she blew her knee out. They risk it with MJF, but at least with him they should get away with it because he is a pretty big star at this point.

Sometimes you gotta strike when the iron is hot.
