Kinda agree with that fb post shared a few post back. I love AEW but I feel like they have missed opportunities and lost some long term booking and continuity. Seems like they have been hotshoting a lot of heel/face turns.

Maybe the MJF stuff is going to be massive payoff down the line… I’m not sure.

That said I still tune in weekly and am treated to some banger matches. There’s still the element of random people showing up week to week. So it’s all entertaining to me and way more digestible than wwe

I think they didn’t know if he would. But it’s a month before the PPV, so it was a pretty sure bet.

Darby v King was a hot start. The Andrade and Rush tag match was excellent. Aew always puts on great tag matches

Main event was slow to start, but ended up getting better than I expected. Too much blood on Jericho for my liking, but overall it was fun and Jericho is in his best shape in many years. Punk looked great as well. Toward the end it looked like there was a hint of a limp, but he looked the part.

I like the Punk v Mox title fight, and I know they’ll deliver. This only works if one of them goes heel (it should be Mox) very soon. The way Mox left the ring was very dickish. The bird, and the shoulder charge, with no consequences? That’s gotta be a heel move. We should want to see a guy like that get his ass handed to him…and Punk did nothing, which makes me think they’re saving it for ppv

That Jericho/Mox match was outstanding. One of my favorites of the year. Jericho can still go and Mox is putting on banger after banger this year

100% I like a good bloody juicy match when the story builds up to it... but these guys are leaking (a lot) every other match it seems like

The blood is a bit much. I thought Mox bladed his usual area and moved a bunch of blood over to his ear to sell that earring pull. But the ear legit looked soaked after the match. Who knows?

There is no intrigue Excalibur, everybody knows who it is going to be.

They don’t mind playing things off like people are that stupid because they’re actually telling what’s going to happen, just in a very inexplicit way because in reality they want people to know and be excited to tune in.

Not just blading, but also the gimmick matches, they used to be kept in the back pocket to blow off a huge feud, or a back and forth grudge, and now they are used so often and indiscriminately that they lose the specialness, if can be the first match or even only match of a feud and with no good reason.

Just because the upcoming show is going to be coming to us from Wilmington, Delaware, we don't need to see Orange Cassidy take on QT Marshall in a Wilmington Street fight
