The lack of communication thing is the concerning bit as I recall that not being the first time someone has said that when leaving the company.

I don't quite get going so hard with separate branding with ROH. It doesn't seem like a strong enough brand at this point to be worth it, vs rolling it more directly into AEW branding?

Great in the ring but they suck otherwise. Terrible on the mic, awful look and gimmick, just dorky in general. Plus naming their finisher The Meltzer Driver is the most pathetic ass kissing thing ever done in this industry and of course ego maniac Dave gave it the best finisher award. That being said, I do really enjoy their matches.
Gotta admit they are entertaining as hell

Call me old fashioned but I like wrestlers to have at least some muscle on their bodies.

Darby is skin and bones. Dude looks like he'd legit lose a fight to a 14 year old football player.
I have no problem with their handling of Darby. He isn’t protected whatsoever. The guy is a loss machine yet it doesn’t hurt him.

I don't care for Darby, but I do get the appeal at least. Some of his big spots make me cringe at the thought of him shortening his career needlessly.

Kingston is another who I personally think sucks, but I think I get why other people like him.

The Bucks I just don't get. Their promos, their match style, it's just so dumb to me. They are consistently very skippable for me. I've been happy that their grip on the titles broke.

I also think FTR are awesome and are currently the best tag team in the world.

FTR is the most over tag team there has been in this industry in a looooong time
That’s not surprising.

They’re incredible at the act of tag teaming and their love and enthusiasm for it is infectious to the fans. Take them from a place that actively hates and suppresses their tag division to a place that lets them make it feel like a big deal, and…

Top Guys.

Whaddya know ?

It's so well deserved too. I like high spots and the flippy dippy shit too, but I'm such a sucker for the art of wrestling. Pacing, story telling, clean technical wrestling...I can't get enough. FTR do not miss. It's insane how little respect they were given in WWE.

If everyone was 5'10 and 170 pounds then I might agree.

A little variety is quite nice though. You can't have a roster of beefcakes

Darby is really little, but I think he’s excellent. Hard to have him with some of the really big guys, but in the ring he’s fun to watch. He looks far less choreographed than other guys because of the pace at which he does things. IMO it really sets him apart. He’s not my favorite guy, but I always find him entertaining In the ring. I would go so far as to say a vast majority of AEW’s roster is less entertaining than Darby and again he’s not even a “favorite”.

Darby is a great midcard guy. Can lose to anybody you want to make a star and not lose steam. He will always give you an entertaining match.

Not everyone can/should be a main eventer.

I even think he’s more than that. He’s cruiserweight champ material and even a belt higher option at some point. That said I agree with you.

I mean, I loved him as TNT champ. Great matches every week. Fun to watch. So, yeah, he can challenge for a belt.

He can be a guy that you elevate when you need to and bring him back down the card after - feuding with a heel AEW heel champ for example. I do not think he will ever be THE guy, but he for sure is a very valuable asset to AEW.

Totally agree. I wouldn’t even rule out THE guy for a very short run at some point.

There's a ton of MMA fighters Darby's size or smaller who would beat the lips off a guy like Randy Orton. I've seen it happen plenty of times in street fights too.

Does Orton have lips though?

To the point of Darby vs bigger guys, I think the way works can make it believable, but it takes a lot of high spots to do it.
