Him being left off top lines and pp are directly impacting his next contract, it makes more sense than you might think

6.2 offer and they'd have to give up a 2nd
No, over 4.2 and it's a 1st and a 3rd. Under 4.2 its a 2nd.

I agree, people have lost their minds with him because he's not Mario right away. I like kakko, I just don't see him as a goal scorer, more of a top 6 shut down winger who's hard to contain, Kinda like Hossa without as much scoring ability. Laffy has the tools to be a scorer and a set up guy, as mentioned before a huberdeau type with a little more physical play, he needs his body to catch up to his style of play though.

Sorry i read it wrong, up to 4.2 or something, what happens with a deal to that max. There will be a line to offer sheet him if he decides to go that route, cap space for any team is attainable, it's a myth that you can not find a way to fit someone in
"cap space for any team is attainable"... that includes NYR. They'd match 4.2. Withou a doubt and the other teams know it.

I'm not talking about an offersheet. I'm talking about a straight trade which has a better chance of happening than an offersheet imo
No it doesnt. And not for picks.

The rangers are trying to win “This Year” trading laf for picks/prospects to montreal would not help that.

Montreal in no way shape or form would trade their 1st overall.

If laf is moved it is the offseason after the draft or at least after the draft order is released. Maybe then a trade for a first could happen, but even then Montreal would be smarter to go offer sheet as it probably would cost less and the rangers dont have the cap to go that high while needing to sign three other key RFAs.

I also should add that laf, chytil and krav all have very good reasons why they should sign offer sheets as they are all blocked from key playing time by vets, are yanked around by a an idiot coach. This can drastically effect their ability to earn future money, maybe even cost them millions potentiallly.

Miller is the only one out of the four rfas that i dont see a good reason for him to sign offer sheet. And he still would make a very tempting target for a team to go after knowing full well the Rangers are in cap hell unless a deal is brokered with the nhlpa to up the cap by 3-4 mil instead of 1

That Stutzle clip is hilarious. He twirls twice while barely under pressure. Kakko does stuff like this while being pressured by 3 skaters in tight along the wall and skates away with the puck.

As for Gorts offer sheeting Laf, not gonna happen. Gorts' loyalty to the old boys club got him fired by Dolan. Besides that, the last GM got publicly embarrassed by the Canes the last time they tried and Aho declined.

Honest question, has a 1st overall pick ever been offer sheeted in the leagues history? I doubt it. Old boys club would not approve.

Laf will totally be given more time by the Rangers. He’s 21. What that will mean though is Kravy is almost certainly gone. They won’t be able to keep both and sign Miller so it’s really that simple.

I think a 20 year old that's averaging over a point per game, 10 in his last 10, can do whatever the hell he wants really. I'd say the same for our kids putting up numbers like that, lol.

Fair, but it makes it no less ridiculous. Hahaha.
Also I’d like to note that all of that did not even result in a shot on goal and Min was headed up ice with the puck when it cut away.…

LMAO. I can't even sometimes. Come on, Bh. Not like this.

You criticize an obviously talented player for being confident enough to not only be flashy, but put separation between him and Johnny Hockey who was stick checking him. JG holds up because he was getting twirled on, and then the kid finds an open man for a shot that gets blocked.

All this shit talking other kids that can put up real numbers, and are not just advanced statistic warriors, and then will go on to say that Laf had a good game because he made a pass to a teammate or hit someone. Le sigh.

Sure, i'm not hating on the player. Just find the clip funny and especially funny is the comment section swooning over it.

I swooned at the sheer audacity to have the confidence to even try it for a kid his age. :)

Dude, I didn’t say he wasn’t good. Hahaha. I just said that sequence looked ridiculous (totally subjective take) and did not result in a shot on goal (objective). This highlights my flashy for the sake of being flashy take. When did JG become some defensive stalwart? Hahaha. Come on, it is a valid criticism/take of/on THIS play. Yes it took skill, but it accomplished very little. THAT IS NOT TO SAY STUTZLE doesn’t look like a real good up and coming player!! Hahaha. I’d take him on the NYR for sure. But not because of this.

Exactly. I’m not saying Stutzle is not a good ‘un.

the gap between laffy and stoots is widening now to secretariat winning the 1973 belmont level of proportions.

stoots can no longer be considered as some sort of over glorified power play specialist. his 5x5 play is also clicking on consistent level. the move to center is paying huge dividends. the guy can play center on either 1st or 2nd line.

The EV gap between “Stoots” and Lafreniere is now 3 points. Yes it’s a chasm. And none of us think Laf is playing great. Hahaha.

I dont get the Stutzle love.
Stutzle is a good young player. Will be a nice long term first line player and maybe more. Some people on this board like to pump him up a little extra because they feel him doing well somehow means Lafreniere is a bust.
