Vesey is playing off-wing. Why not Gauthier, who plays the right side naturally?I was hoping he’d get the empty netter last night. Just get the monkey off his back and get a little confidence.
Tbh, that line with he and Chytil really needs a RWer with Kakko getting the promotion.

What if someone offers him a deal like Carolina did for kotkiemiKakko didn't sign an offer sheet. I seriously doubt Laf does either. If he wants out at some point, that's his decision, but I don't get that vibe with him. He seems like a good kid who wants to work hard and get better. The opportunity for him to succeed is there. He just has to take it.
How did that work out for Montreal? What if someone offers him a deal like Carolina did for kotkiemi
Imo mtl would be front of the pack and the offer would be more than that.offer sheets.... interesting....
i wasn't aware of this. i thought the real test to see if he was real keeping or not was to begin next season but it's been this season all along. so would it be safe to think that what he does for the rest of the season will determine if he remains with us or not?
let's assume that he finished with say 38 pts total for the season.
chances are there just might be a team somewhere that might tend 2-3 years at say 3.4 million. so whatcha going to do?
Not the same player. What if someone offers 1 year 6.2, we either match that or get a 2nd rounder backHow did that work out for Montreal?

Even if they offer it, it's still up to him whether or not he signs it.What if someone offers him a deal like Carolina did for kotkiemi

I just don't see any team doing it. We have a flat cap, so there aren't that many teams that even have the cap space to offer something like that. Of the ones that do, they are mostly bad. Does Laf want to play in a college arena?
Offer sheets don't happen all that much in any case, and I can't see teams wanting to poke the bear by offer-sheeting a Rangers' player.
Sure, but they’d probably need to offer enough that it’s an unprotected first and more to get him to sign, and that’s dangerous for them. But montreal can definitely do it and have the cap space. And that should worry us.
Montreal has 13 mil in cap space, but they've got to re-sign Caufield and Harris. But montreal can definitely do it and have the cap space. And that should worry us.

Well the unprotetected first would be in 2024, and laff should theoretically make them better.Sure, but they’d probably need to offer enough that it’s an unprotected first and more to get him to sign, and that’s dangerous for them.
Him being left off top lines and pp are directly impacting his next contract, it makes more sense than you might thinkwhat team?
I have doubts that Laffy would ever sign an offersheet. Maybe I'm wrong.
6.2 offer and they'd have to give up a 2ndSure, but they’d probably need to offer enough that it’s an unprotected first and more to get him to sign, and that’s dangerous for them.
It's his ridiculous looking goatee.
He needs to go back to being clean shaven.
All time best troll attempt.
Developing players is how you win. Not sure how you keep missing that fact. We want to win more than you do, very obviously.

6.2 offer and they'd have to give up a 2nd
That's not true. A 1 year, $6.2M offer sheet means that team has to give up their next first rounder with no protections and a third rounder. No one is going to offer sheet Laf. The two most likely teams are MTL and VAN, and neither are going to have the cap space to make that type of move next year. MTL is going to give Caufield a deal similar to Suzuki and still have to fill out their roster. VAN has a terrible cap situation right now and still need to extend younger guys like Bear and Kuzmenko.Him being left off top lines and pp are directly impacting his next contract, it makes more sense than you might think

Montreals 2023 first rounders have no bearing on an offer sheet. The 2023 draft will be long gone by the time MTL is able to even make an offer to Laf.What if Montreal wins the lottery twice? Lol. Would you trade Laffy for Fantilli?
I honestly know I'm in the minority but I think Laffy will be a good player... better than Kakko.
Truthfully.....if HABS have the opportunity they definitely will offer him a contract ....I tend to think Drury and Gorton are each working on this already .....hopefully Drury working harder . This has to be settled before the deadline for Rangers . He has to have a new deal for NY done by then . We cannot take a chance of heading into the Summer and losing him for a second rounder.....like losing Tony for nothing .,,,and Buch for nothing ,But montreal can definitely do it and have the cap space. And that should worry us.
And that would also be a sweet little payback for Gorts.
I agree, people have lost their minds with him because he's not Mario right away. I like kakko, I just don't see him as a goal scorer, more of a top 6 shut down winger who's hard to contain, Kinda like Hossa without as much scoring ability. Laffy has the tools to be a scorer and a set up guy, as mentioned before a huberdeau type with a little more physical play, he needs his body to catch up to his style of play though. This org would go scorched earth on whoever offer sheeted Laffy.. if there is a team with cap space and/or a destination Laffy would be willing to sign up for.

Sorry i read it wrong, up to 4.2 or something, what happens with a deal to that max. There will be a line to offer sheet him if he decides to go that route, cap space for any team is attainable, it's a myth that you can not find a way to fit someone inThat's not true. Stupid antics aside, it made sense for CAR to sign Kotkaniemi to the offer sheet because they had plenty of cap space to fit it and their first wasn't going to be that valuable since they were projected to be good.
I'm not talking about an offersheet. I'm talking about a straight trade which has a better chance of happening than an offersheet imoMontreals 2023 first rounders have no bearing on an offer sheet. The 2023 draft will be long gone by the time MTL is able to even make an offer to Laf.
The unprotected pick would be 2024.
But i do think that Laf will be better than Kakko. Im just jot positive it will be for the Rangers.
