Thought he had a better third. Obvious he’s learning.

Edge said it in the GDT, he could have a couple of assists over the last two games if we could get some finishing.

Anyhow, if you think he’s a bust and you have no patience considering the type of season this is, you enjoy seeing the negative side of things. I get it

Not saying it’s all Howden fault, but as much as we rag on Strome, hes far better offensively than Howden. So having better options can also make you play better, less individual pressure to carry the entire line.
 
I don't think he is particularly lacking in explosiveness right now, but he is all but guaranteed to become more explosive over the next year (and beyond); and then look the hell out.

He is going to be able to process the game at whatever speed he can get his body to play it at.

All those delicate little passes that he makes now will be 10x more dangerous when he can impose himself physically as well.

He is not a scorer....thats bs hes young....everybody had no pre season. 2 top picks..both cant score...wow..kakko n lafren
 
I am not watching games I am boycotting until some good coach is hired. So all I know is 1 goal and 0 assists in first 12 games is beyond brutal for 1st overall pick. Something really is messed up. This is not some random 1st rounder this was the consensus 1st overall. Should have traded down to #2 and picked a Malkin-like center in Byfield.
 
I thought tonight was one of his better games for sure. You can tell with some of his decision making though that he's still kind of feeling his way around. There was a play in his own zone where he should have thrown it around the net to a wide open Trouba so he can clear it/skate the puck out but instead he tried to curl and go up the boards himself and the Rangers got stuck in their own zone. Little things like that he'll figure out but I definitely think his play is improving compared to early on where he was very quiet and a non-factor for the most part.

Is byfield even playing for them right now?

Laf could have played some games in the Q or in WJC so I don't feel sorry for his excuse of no preseason games. He made a conscious decision that he is too cool for WJC and Q.
