So, let me get this straight: You say we won't have 3 left-handed shooters on the 3rd line, and then you suggest Kakko or Kravtsov to play there, who are still left-handed shooters.

And then your "solution" is to get rid of Strome, which would leave us with only 4 right-handed shooters... I'm so confused

Not a lot of options. They are going to have to bite the bullet it seems. Gauthier is getting time over Kakko/Kravtsov who both shoot left but are accustomed to RW
I don’t know why but I thought Kravtsov was a right handed shot.
Losing a Righty shot in strome isn’t optimal, but I would still love to see how chytil performs as Panarins center for a 20 game clip or so

The thing with Laf that has really impressed me from what i've seen of training camp & game 1 has been the touch on his passes. He's landing them EXACTLY where they need to go, and setting up really high quality chances with them

I think just give him some time and be patient. When he settled in near the end of last year he started looking real good and when he had chances with talented players. It'll click and he'll start piling up the points

I feel like both him and Kakko have to learn to play with the Rangers otehr top talent somehow, they always seem to defer to the vets a bit much

is that a knock?

The fact that he and Kakko are skating the way they are is a MASSIVE relief. He will be flying by mid-season. He's way ahead of Kakko in terms of 'development'
Imo Kakko is way ahead of him today but it’s not a bad thing. Kakko has an extra year of NHL experience and is a crazy talented player himself. Laf will get it this year I think. He was really sharp to end last season.

Nah just the way it is at this point. Love having both, not that LaF is looking bad, but kakko looking more polished/driven in preseason so far.
LaF still has the higher ceiling of both players though imo

that was my point. Comparing development, year 1 Laf was better. IMO he will also be better than Kakko by end of year 2.

I love that he's willing to throw the body hard and this early in his career. Totally seems to have bought into that notion of culture change
and I'm sure he's soaking up the lessons from his Quebeci brother BlaisItUp420 and Revo.

As for the Player big P vs. Laff debate. Obv Kakko is ahead due to having one more full year.
But I was going to say, that no matter what, I see Kaapo better now and in general, he's our 2nd MVP behind Foxy.

That wouldn't be fair though, because Laf and Kak have different skillsets and strengths that should compliment each other beautifully.
Laf is more physical (i.e. throwing the body) and should be a great finisher, specially the greasy goals in front.
Kaapo can't be seperated from the puck and will find he mates as his playing making matures.

Really awesome to have these two kids. I hope they both fit the cap for ever!

Lafreniere wrist shot is an absolute thing of beauty. I would love to see him in Stromes Spot on the PP, so when teams cheat on Zibby and shade his one time LaF is in prime position to receive a pass take 1-2 steps and let that howitzer go....
Plus I want chytil getting strome top 6 minutes.. he’s ready.
It’s not that I hate strome, but he’s not in our future plans, especially now.
I just seen all his prime minutes and opportunity as a short term gain that ultimately delays development a bit with some of of key youngsters.
Let’s be honest, Strome can score a PPG this season and it really isn’t going to up his trade value much. No one is going to offer a 1st rounder for him, even a late one in these 2 drafts.
They still think he’s mainly a product of all the talent around him and there’s too many holes in his overall game, add to the fact he’s looking to get paid on a multi-year deal around 6-7 mill
