Fast, good hockey iq, hard quick shot. Definitely sounds like a player that can find large amounts of success with Mcjesus (see: Nuge). He hasnt lived up to expectations at all in Buffalo amd could benefit from a change of scenery and some Swedes to mentor him (Klefbom, Larsson). What would be the price? Seeing as Buffalo needs D, I think the offer would need to start with Bear or Jones and a + on top of that. Flame away below.

I really don't see much ground to make a trade between the two teams... Nylander while not producing numbers relative to his draft position is still a talented player. I think Buffalo is better off holding on to him rather than to trade him off for multiple lesser pieces. If traded, I can see him being used as leverage piece in a larger multi-player deal (in the event Ryan O'Reilly gets moved or a trade like that) or possibly for an equally talented but underachieving player....I guess a similar example on Edmonton would possibly be Puljujarvi....what would the price be for him if a team were inquiring.

Not worth more then a second. People saying Nurse or Yam are out of there mind.

I'm not sure if you were suggesting this but as much as Puljujarvi has struggled and he has, Nylander has done literally nothing to suggest he's worth Puljujarvi straight up.

I don't think Buffalo should trade him right now either because his value has to be practically nothing unless they can find an idiot like the Islanders did with Reinhart.

Now they just need to find a team that has Nylanders GM in Jr as their head of scouting.

No I am not suggesting a trade but using it more as a reference to gauge value of Nylander as a struggling player. Basically asking what you would want for Puljujarvi in a trade......in doing some arithmetic....if you pro-rate Alex Nylander's 2 pts in 7 NHL games to 93 NHL games..the number which Puljujarvi has played in......Nylander would have 13 goals and 27 pts compared to Puljujarvi having 13 goals and 28 pts. I think both teams are better off keeping them and hoping they find their games rather than trading them and having them find it somewhere else and regretting it.

I think our best bet is to trade him in a package for another underperforming player or to a team facing a cap crunch.

If we could become less of a circus as an organization that might help as well.

Given his potential and draft position, I don't see why Buffalo would take less than pick #10

Open with Nurse and see what else they want.

Not sure if you are Sabres fan or not, but if Oilers is opening with Nurse for Alex Nylander, are you adding Dahlin? Then Oilers would add their first though, and again circle goes round ’n round.

Nylander is only 20 yrs old. Buffalo needs to be patient, he has the pedigree to put it all together. No reason to move him immediately unless the offer merits it.

At this point Nylander is a + in a trade. Buffalo can use him to sweeten the pot on other trades they're making.

I'd like him on the Oilers but not at whatever price Chiarelli would probably pay. To me his value has fallen to 2nd round pick at best (obviously worth more to Buffalo). At which cost Buffalo should keep him because he has more potential than someone theyd take in the 2nd round.

I see no sense in moving him now unless an GM really wants him and gives Buffalo a nice deal. Buffalo's better off keeping him at this point in time.

Nylander would cost 10OA.

N
My feeling is nylander expected a decent nhl shot right out of the draft. Expected one this past yeAr but didnt get one. This caused him to not play well at ahl.

Buffalo held him back because ge would be exempt in 20 expansion draft.

In that draft buffalo would want to do 8 skaters and 1G to protect an acquired or signed Dman.

I see mylander getting a longer look at nhl next season

I was going to say no one would be stupid enough to offer 10th overall for Nylander, and then I remembered which GM is drafting 10th overall.
