Nice writeup, Gann. I've played at relatively high levels and I think it's been sort of understated how hard that switch from left to right side can be for some. Martinez has handled it really well but as he mentions there are certain spots/times on the ice that you may not really have a good instinct built in for that area. It can be maddening.
And I also love this quote: “Sometimes Darryl talks about output being more important than outcome. Obviously, we were getting the outcome there, but I don’t think that we were too happy with the output.”

AMart needs to be and deserves to be signed to a long term deal a.s.a.p. Each year he has improved his play, and I don't see that stopping for another couple years. He will become a solid 3-4 defenseman, and not just an average one.
