The AHL regular season is about to hit its final month with April just around the corner. The stage is set for a playoff-like atmosphere, with several teams in the Western Conference trying to make a late-season push to get into the 2014 Calder Cup Playoffs.

AHL Western Conference Outlook
The division leaders have distanced themselves from the pack. The Texas Stars have already clinched a playoff spot, and between the Stars and Grand Rapids Griffins – who have continued their pace despite several call-ups to the NHL affiliate Detroit Red Wings – the Western Conference’s 2013-14 champion will likely have to go through one, if not both, of the West’s current powerhouses.… read more
