I get annoying ads and banners also depending on what Device im using. I think ad blockers help, or so I have heard.
I just deal with it.

I am getting popups appearing in the middle of my screen and right on top of posts. Also some of them don't seem to have an X out option so I am just stuck looking at it. Is it my computer or has there been a recent change on the site?
A pile of us are using the brave app. It’s a browser that blocks all the ads and pop ups. Works great. Highly recommend and it’s free.

At least with those and the regularly scheduled crashes, the PC version is now as bad as the phone version.

Use an ad blocker and all you will see is the pop-up from this site begging you to turn it off. Ignore that and use the site with no ads.

I have had some success highlighting the text of the post I'm trying to read.

Sometimes I can read through the add, sometimes the add gets out of the way.

They were running an ad for a blatant Amazon scam site, must feel nice running a dogshit forum that a chimp could have put together and forcing your users onto a page designed to compromise their credit cards right at Christmas time.

But hey if you don’t want to be force-redirected to a scam site that traps you from clicking back, just pay them a 12$ ranso- I mean donation.

yea, but I use about 5 devices to access the site, the $12 is a lot less hassle
So install a free ad blocker on 5 devices vs paying sites to not see their ads. It's your money! Or forgo all tech learning and just subscribe to The Hockey News.

tech learning lol............yea ok. (I have ad blockers on everything but my work laptop)

i use the site pretty much daily, and i don't have an issue paying a nominal amount for content i use. I know that it's archaic to pay for something you could get for free so i guess i'm just old school.
