The Swedish Chef couldn't help this team. Like the Russians, tending will be their downfall.

Go Canada!!!

The Sedin sisters aren't exactly a big threat, and you can't replace Forsberg, Sundin and Lidtrom. No goaltending, soft defense and missing firepower make this team no threat at all. Good to see Alfie there though, the guy's one of the hardest working players around.

Sweden has no chance to win this tournament without Sundin, Frosberg and Lidstrom......GO CANADA!!

no goalie = no championship

Bottom Line:The Sweeds will not medal this year,no goaltending!

I guess Lundqvist is not famous yet. This tourney should be interesting.

I see you've been reading the tsn "your call" fan boards.Don't go in there looking for sound hockey knowledge, you'll be sorely dissapointed. Any Canadian fan with a hold on the international hockey scene is very rare in there. It's a board dominated by a high percentage of low to middling hockey intellect nhl fans. You're spending time at the wrong place my friend.

I second that.

The comments there on any topic are really only good for a laugh.

TSN.ca's feedback is just about the lowest common denominator possible. The one thing I'll always remember from my pre-HF prospect discussion days is in 2001, I had the nerve to suggest in a TSN.ca thread that Kovalchuk had a chance to go first overall in the draft (this was about 9 months or so beforehand). Oh man did I catch a lot of insults over that one. Strangely, when the draft actually came, there were very few responses to my "I told you so".

I agree, the people who post on those boards are for the most part as ignorant as they come. You'll get the worst homerism and regional bias you can image on those things. Sound breakdowns just don't happen on that TSN board, for any league. Usually the comments are pretty pathetic.

Most people who follow hockey know the rosters and know what the teams chances are. Lundqvist, you're right isn't famous yet, but there is no doubt he's very good. Although someone posted to remind them Lundqvist was good. which is odd, because there was actually a logical, coherent argument.

Bang on...and the regionalism like you mentioned....it's a disease in there.
