Glenn's D in Detroit was awful outside of a stretch this year and ended season back to being pretty shitty

My expectation is he will be out of a job in 3 years

Jets job like Jags job was far from appealing so it's not surprising they ended up with bottom of barrel coach hire

This is an excellent hire and anyone who actually watches and follows the Lions knows that. Might not work out but most coaches don't.

Without a QB, it's not that attractive a job. No idea who LV will hire now that they have a GM. NO, Carr is mid, so a new HC knows what he is getting. Jags have Lawrence, but doesn't seem like they are getting great candidates. Dallas, well, HC would have to let Jerry run the team, so not as attractive.

I won't say that he'll have success. But I feel Glenn is better suited as a head coach than Johnson.

Players love the guy and he did the best he could once Hutchinson went down. Guys start dropping like flies at a ridiculous rate after that.

Plus getting a pair of draft picks for him leaving is nice.

I completely agree with everything here. I do think Johnson is walking into a better situation although that partly depends on who the Jets hire as GM.

Glenn is a fine hire but it's Saleh and Bowles 2.0, culture builders that are soft spoken with the fire that players will rally around. It'll be successful based on if Glenn gets the right OC in and if Woody stays the f*** out of the football talks. He was one of my favorite Jets players as a kid so I love it from that point of view but I can definitely understand having reservations about this hire

Copy and pasted from the Devils board football thread since I couldn't be bothered to type it again

Glenn's defense gave up like 30+ points 4 times in the whole year and his defense was littered with practice squad and third stringers. They had Jamal Adams come out of pseudo retirement to start for them for f***'s sake lmao

Which he won't

I mean, you're probably right. My only hope is Trump gives him some stupid job again like he did the first term but LOL @ that if it happens in general
