Well, get ready to be shocked. You have a starting goalie with 0 playoff starts and even Leaf fans have the ability to be realistic at times and why do you think this goalies won’t be like all other goalies you’ve had for the last 20 years?

And Ottawa starting with a goalie having a reputation of chocking in playoff...

Both goalie having thing to prove

Yeah but Ullmark kinda sucks in the playoffs himself and Stolarz is a ??? mark playing in one game (very small sample size) so might be a wash.

you're right tho, it might come down to the goaltenders.

I just can't see Leafs losing, although I'd celebrate by smoking this jar of hash I've been saving up for a special occasion.

Good idea to load up on hash, old school

True, But no presser on Ottawa, underdogs on the road, Stolzrtz will be under the most pressure he’s ever been under and it’ll only grow as the series continues

Uh oh...

Apparently they aren't...

Yeah, it's a weird comparison cause Ovechkin had won six playoff rounds before the post-season they won the Cup had even begun, so it's not like the core was "failing" each year unless he's trying to suggest "not winning the Cup" and "not winning a round" is the same level of failure.

It's an even bigger stretch when you factor in that the Capitals didn't just keep rolling out the same core that "failed." Core players Mike Green and Alex Semin were let go and the core was re-shaped.
I would argue, adding Knies, Tanev, Carlo, Stolarz and in recent years McCabe is a pretty big change

Mike Green wasn't really let go, his best days were behind him and they moved on from him and had an internal replacement. It wasn't as if they moved on from prime Mike Green.

Wouldn't call Semin a core player, he was a good player but not a core player. Their main core players were Ovechkin, Backstrom, Carlson, Kuznetsov and to some degree Tom Wilson (All of who they kept) and Green.

I see what you're trying to do, but as usual it's just wrong lol

We all know the Sens have no chance to win. But I'll say this, Leafs fans are setting themselves up for some major bullying should a miracle happen. Be humble my people.

I would say you guys have a fairly decent chance, this series will be closer than people imagine.

They didn't watch us before either lol, people were citing poor goaltending/defence as to the reason we lost in previous years. When in reality it was the inability to score goals in the playoffs.

Usually in elimination games as well. Before that we could always score just fine.

Except 99% of the comments in the Toronto thread are pointless drivel. Like the one i am responding to! ;)

Its about quality, not quantity. Except when it comes to #cups. 24 cups baby!
Jesus. Only a habs fan could unite sens and leaf fans on an issue.

Battle of Ontario is getting alot of attention because it is attention worthy. All the posts might not be exactly literature, but it is rich for a habs fan to comment on quality vs quantity.

Habs fans base is by far the most delusional on this forum. When I have a tough day I sometimes lurk on the habs board as a pick me up. You guys never dissapoint.

Give it a week and you will change your tune! ;)

Ooof... Cozens and Batherson are stars?

Like I said, if Tkachuk is considered a star, Knies should be too, they had similar seasons (Knies was better at 5v5).

They do up it physically in the playoffs... Matthews ups it by 11 hits per 60... Tkachuk has 11 hits per 60 during the season (will likely also increase in the playoffs), so that is at least how much Matthews hits in the playoffs.

I'm not saying Matthews will hit more than him, just they finish their checks a lot more in the playoffs.
It's got nothing to do with being a "star"

What I listed was the top 2 centers and top 2 wingers from each side.

The result might not flatter you, but that is the result.

1- Toronto having a pretty good plan B if Stolarz doesn't work with Woll who's already performed in the past under pressure

2- Pressure it's for me where Ottawa having the edge in this serie.

It's the key of that serie and where this will be play. If Ottawa want to win, they need to hurt leafs confidence and if they fail... They will lost
