Senators are going to win after a dazzling locker room speech by their captain

Insulting their captain’s appearance with Auston Matthews wearing the C for your team is certainly one of the moves of all time

Yeah never heard you guys taking the high road calling him nostrils. Glass houses...by the way, even you have to admit that is pretty much bang on for Brady.

Over or under on the number of warnings and bans in the first main board GDT? I'm putting it at 18

I feel like AM34 could look better and chooses the look while Tkachuk is just straight up ugly

Dunno what's worse. Also dunno why I'm spending my work day discussing the looks of players and if they could improve on them

Depending on the outcome of the first game and how nasty it is, I'd bump it up a few numbers. I fully expect to receive a few myself.

As a Sens fan , it pains me to say that the Leafs are heavy favourites . They score more and allow less. Berube has changed the style of play and they play a very tight, unified game. They have a Hart Trophy winner , perennial candidate , and guys who have scored 40+ goals . We have none. Their goaltending has surprised me as well. I said Leafs in 6.

If Ottawa wins, it will mimic the way Toronto beat us all those times. Crazy goaltending (Belfour/Joseph), timely goals by veterans, and sheer will to win , and heart. That is the formula.

The leafs defense may be a bit slow, and mediocre at moving the puck. I think that will be the point of attack where the Sens have a chance. McCabe and OEL are just coming off injuries as well. The leafs D has some toughness and physicality, and they will engage with the Sens forwards on the forecheck and in front of the net. I think dragging them into the muck could be advantageous for the Sens forwards.

A heavy forecheck to wear that D down, cycle pucks, and get shots to the net with traffic will be the Sens recipe, and I think it could work.

Going to be great theater this series!
