I know it's been a long time since Senators fans have seen playoff hockey but lol.

Marchand gave the Leafs verbal oral pre-series last year and throughout. Jon Cooper has many quotes over the years about how great the Leafs are.

It's not special

Marchand said mMarner was his favorite player. Marner is hfboards favorite players favorite player

Not liking how overconfident a lot of my fellow Leafs fans are here. Same type who were screaming "We want Florida". This is a rivalry and can't see this going less than 6 games. I think Pinto and Zub will play a bigger factor in this series than Leaf fans realize

You’ve said that a few times now, how is it they limped in lol.

They are wild card #2 and needed to go on the best run they’ve had in years just to squeak into a wild card spot at all.

If they didn’t hit their late season run like the sabers manage to do every year they’d be sitting at home right now.

Wildcard teams aren’t exactly bragging about their resounding success during the season, are they?

We were just vibing chanting we want Boston, we want Florida as the score changed in the final game. That really upset a lot of people to see Leaf fans happy.

It's one of the things I am most excited about when we win the cup

It would matter if you made that argument in a complete vacuum without any context whatsoever.

As it turns out, we can look to season stats for some insight!

Sanderson was a -11 when paired with Travis Hamonic in a little under 400 minutes this season.

For the season, Sanderson is:

22nd in xGF at 9.2 (no leaf in the top 60, lol)

16th in Goals with 11 (Morgan Reilly is the top Leaf at 51st with 7 goals)

10th in Pts with 55 (Morgan Reilly is the top Leaf at 25th with 41 pts)
So he’s a slightly above average offensive dman in Ottawa that has overachieved because of the powerplay.

Where have I seen this story before?

They are the top wildcard team.

This takes 2 seconds to look up man. You think the Punisher would be so lazy when researching?

They’ve been a wild card team since just before trade deadline. 1/4 season ago.

You realize the Leafs have made it out of the first round once in 8 years? Lol
7 of those against teams with combined 5 cups and 2 sc finals appearances in that time frame. Atlantic was brutal for Leafs who steadily climbed from borderline WC team to steady A3, to A2 and to A1. Don’t you see the pattern?

One is the division winner and the other has missed the playoffs for 7 straight seasons (and did so disastrously last season) and limped into a wild card spot

Sens needed a miracle to make the playoffs
Limped into a wildcard spot?

We've held a wild card spot for the last quarter of the season.

Montreal, if they make it will have limped into the playoffs.

Marner is going to turn heads this year in the playoffs and Willy is well, Willy.

Ottawa has to surprise game one and hopefully throw a couple Sens’ing wins to push it to seven.

The “Would you rather Tkachuk or Marner” debate is going to be seen on the ice.

For what it's worth the Leafs and Sens basically have the same expected goal differential (-4.51 for the Sens, -4.93 for the Leafs) this season.

Should be a prety close series. Could see it going either way in 6-7 games.
