The leafs forwards >>> Sens forwards. Top end and bottom end.
Griegg turtled against Morgan Rielly. Leafs have 12 different players this season with fighting majors. Lots of options to pick from.
Maybe Knies?
Maybe Domi
Maybe Carlo
These are all from the last few weeks btw lol
Why do they have nearly identical records since the TDL then if they're so much better at everything?Leafs forward > Sens forwards
Leafs defense as a group > Sens defense as a group
Leafs goaltending > Sens goaltending
If the Ottawa Senators answer to the Knies-Matthews-Marner line is going to be Shane Pinto, my confidence level is going to go through the roof.Well yeah probably not Stutzle but AM34 has gotten clamped his whole career by 2C's in the post season. Pinto will have him in his pocket probably
Who is Toronto's answer to Brady Tkachuk and Jake Sanderson? If the Ottawa Senators answer to the Knies-Matthews-Marner line is going to be Shane Pinto, my confidence level is going to go through the roof.
Thanks - The playoff avatar arms race has been hilarious over in Sens land and that's one of my better contributions. I'm also pretty proud of:This is amazing

Ottawa probably has a better 1D? Sanderson is as far away from any Toronto D as Matthew’s is in goal scoring over a Senator forward. It’s not close.I don't know if this is a waste of time and it will just go into the void of meme's and shit posting but I will attempt to actually breakdown the series. I think the defense and goaltending on paper is mostly a wash. Ottawa prob has a better 1D...Toronto a bit better depth. Forwards, I think Toronto has more game breaking talent up front...better at generating offense at even strength then Ottawa is. But again...they have to actually do it. I do think Ottawa has a much better 3rd line. Toronto has a better PP...both teams have decidedly average penalty kills. I think a lot of this series is going to come down to whether Ottawa can generate offense at even strength and for the Leafs if their penalty kill can step up. I don't see there being many high scoring games. Coaching obviously will be a big X factor as well just have to see how that plays out.
Leafs actually tanked because it was part of Berube’s 8D chess maneuver to get them ready for the playoffs (this time for real). Why do they have nearly identical records since the TDL then if they're so much better at everything?
They put up points in the Tampa series 2 years ago.........Outside of that they have had a hard time finding the right balance of playing good enough defense to win combined with getting their top guys consistent production the way some of the other teams with really high end forwards have done (Colorado Edmonton etc)It's hilarious to see Leaf fans acting like their team is some untouchable juggernaut and that Sens fans should be super scared of them when they're going to finish with 108 points, which will end up like their 3rd or 4th best season over the past few years. Because they have a player that finishes checks in Domi and they now have someone who can actually defend in Tanev on the backend we're supposed to pretend like they're going to steamroll their way to a cup.
Didn't we hear the same things being said about Ryan O'Reilly and Jake Muzzin? It doesn't matter. It always comes down to the top 4 forwards, and they always disappoint. Those guys are the same, and every Leafs fan knows it.
I know regular season means nothing, but those 4 have a combined 3 points and are -8 against the Sens this year.
Maybe after the Leafs eliminate Ottawa they can show them how to gain respect in the hand shake line.
Maybe because the season didn't start in March. Why do they have nearly identical records since the TDL then if they're so much better at everything?
Its the playoffs anything can happen. My playoff draft is tonight. Not sure to load up on my Leafs the 1st round disappearing act. or maybe they actually show up for a full round. Won it with Dallas and Florida guys last year.I could see a first round upset. Anyone else feel the same?
Okay.Ottawa probably has a better 1D? Sanderson is as far away from any Toronto D as Matthew’s is in goal scoring over a Senator forward. It’s not close.
Nearly identical records since December 1st.Maybe because the season didn't start in March.
According to HockeyVirus it does. He said that the reason we should fear the Leafs despite this only being their 3rd or 4th best season at 108 points, is because of how good they've been since the TDL. Well Ottawa's got 1 more point than Toronto since the TDL, so which is it? Should we ignore this only being Toronto's 3rd best season and only consider post TDL play, or should we take the whole season into consideration? Can't have it both ways.Maybe because the season didn't start in March.
Battle of Ontario, check.
But who wants more Tkachuks? Brady choked on the only important scoring chance he's ever had as a pro (or, the best version is he was absolutely robbed ... still choked though) and Matthew selfishly played in the same "gold medal" game when he was clearly unfit to, was pulled from the game minutes later, meaning the U.S. was a man short when someone healthy could've been in the lineup in his place.
Hey, as a Canadian I can admit I sure was happy they were playing for America and not us!So bottom line, the less Tkachuks the better.
He was comparing both teams positions and you brought up the identical records since the trade deadline. That's what I responded to, not something that someone else said earlier today.According to HockeyVirus it does. He said that the reason we should fear the Leafs despite this only being their 3rd or 4th best season at 108 points, is because of how good they've been since the TDL.
