If the Leafs cant over come their awful home playoff record of late, and their special teams once again go to shit in the playoffs they are doomed.

They've never go far until they figure that shit out in the playoffs. Leafs get beat in special teams like every series.
Yeah 11-20 at home with this core is not gonna work lol they have to perform at home or all of this talking is a waste of time. Gotta have faith Berube will have them ready I guess.

Why do so many people just love to parrot the same talking points over and over again?

Do people not get bored reading it?

Have an actual discussion on a hockey forum about how the series might go? Nah I'd rather just bring up playoff records over and over again and talk about what players on my team accomplished something on another team. Or talk about the playoff run my team went on almost a decade ago and none of the players on that team are on the current team, but it is still super relevant to the discussion!

Because it's HF.

Nothing is easy but with the talent we've played against always getting caught in the 2-3 match up the last few years, I'll take this all day
Once again for the record, not saying we'll win (I'd be happy to win 2 games), but this is a lot better than playing TB for us. They destroy us at will and Florida is Florida. At least here we have a fighting chance.

I don't know if this is a waste of time and it will just go into the void of meme's and shit posting but I will attempt to actually breakdown the series. I think the defense and goaltending on paper is mostly a wash. Ottawa prob has a better 1D...Toronto a bit better depth. Forwards, I think Toronto has more game breaking talent up front...better at generating offense at even strength then Ottawa is. But again...they have to actually do it. I do think Ottawa has a much better 3rd line. Toronto has a better PP...both teams have decidedly average penalty kills. I think a lot of this series is going to come down to whether Ottawa can generate offense at even strength and for the Leafs if their penalty kill can step up. I don't see there being many high scoring games. Coaching obviously will be a big X factor as well just have to see how that plays out.
This was my exact point that a Leaf fan shot down a couple pages ago. Lol. To me what it really boils down to is the Leafs stars, which really seem like the difference between the two teams in the regular season. Ottawa just doesn't have a Matthews or Marner up front. I hate to oversimplify and say it's all on them but it kind of is, unless some other thing plagues them in a hypothetical loss to Ottawa.

I’m familiar with Greig, the leafs version of Greig is Domi. Hopefully they fight at some point this series.
Mmm...not sure about that comparison personally. Greig's actually a really good two way player, and I'm not confident I've seen Domi at the same level defensively. Maybe I'm wrong?

Is he even going to do anything? Rielly looks at him and he will sulk back to the bench
Greig? He gets under your skin, which is why I called him an asshole. He wears a shit eating grin, he gets guys to lose focus and he's actually quite a good player. Again, the prototypical asshole 3rd liner.

Ok but we have guys like that too. And to be honest, after facing Brad Marchand half a dozen times no one is going to care about Greig and if he starts running around, he'll be turtling on the ice again before too long.

lol, you're in for a bit of a surprise. Ottawa, as a team, does not turtle. And....pray tell, who on the Leafs will make us turtle, if you don't mind me asking.

I'm not liking all this turtle talk. :sarcasm:
