Oh I know, I have already accepted defeat. Knies is better than Tkachuk, McCabe is better than Sanderson. Its incredible these two teams even play in the same league. Should be a walk in the park for Toronto. Maybe they will let Ottawa play one home game but I think they will give up before game 4.
As they should but lets get real here. Ottawa doesn't have any home games in round 1.

That's fair, but maybe not everyone agrees.

Do you think if the Leafs had made numerous deep runs in the past few years, that the voting situation would be different?

Sure, the team is different this year in many ways, but the guys who couldn't score enough in the past are still the core guys.

Toronto still has a lot to prove in the post-season, and I think the voting reflects that along with the usual crew of people who dislike the Leafs.
I am shocked its this close in all honestly. This leafs team really performs when they are heavy favorites. There is absolutely not pressure to beat this rookie playoff team when they have ran away with the division. Being superior in all positions as per Craig Button.

I'm well aware that that's why, but calling this a coin flip series solely because of the past is still pretty disingenuous and I'm sure you agree with that.

The Leafs aren't just automatically going to lose because they did in previous years. I'm sure the Tampa series in 2023 had far more neutral posters voting for the Lightning solely for that reason and it had no bearing on reality.
Buddy there's two good teams here, you can't seriously be confused as to why some people think the Senators have a legitimate chance. Toronto is the favorite, but this is hardly some David vs Goliath matchup. It'll be closer to a coin flip than it will be some one-sided steamroll.

There aren’t a lot of true die hard Sens fans unfortunately. They bailed on the team in recent years. Some are now crawling back (casuals) and lifting the dust off of their HF accounts.

Well, when you're a small market, you have to take what you can get, including casuals, transfers from other teams, what have you.

Right! hows that ticket search for you going?! Jeez louise I already have 4. I'll probably just give them to those rich in hockey culture that grew up in Ottawa but decided to cheer for the mighty leafs and their 1 series win in 20 years.

Looks like a fantastic series in the making. I voted Toronto in 6 but could easily see the Sens win here. With Travis Green in charge they got a good team there

Would the voting be different? Maybe. But would the same weirdo posters that obsess over the Leafs despite claiming they hate the Leafs still vote for the other team regardless of who it was? Likely.

History can only repeat itself for so long. People thought the Caps would never make it past the second round until they did. I'm not comparing the Leafs success in the playoffs to the Caps of those days, but people acted like the Caps would never get over that hurdle it until they did. So the default 'the Leafs will lose no matter who they play' will only work for so long.

I mean the same can be said for the Leafs never making it out of the first round - that was the bar and even when they got over it people still default to the same schtick.

Buddy, I voted Leafs in 6, so I hardly think it will be a one-sided steamroll. Not sure how you even gathered that. But it's not a 50/50 coinflip series, and the poll is reflecting that because of the same posters who will vote for the team playing the Leafs no matter who it is. The betting odds, for example, are not 50/50.

Tickets aren't an issue and I know many Ottawa season ticket holders that have already sold the tickets to leafs fans for a profit. Leafs Nation is coming into CTC big time

It's statistically unlikely but it's not impossible.

No way do the Bills lose four Super Bowls in a row. No way do the Sens lose four straight to the Leafs. No way do the Sharks fail to achieve any playoff success in the Joe Thornton era.

Hey come on man, don't disrespect the classy organization that is the Toronto Maple Leafs like that! This is the fanbase that made their unofficial mascot some drunk fat dude with facepaint on and a dart hanging out of his mouth we're talking about here!

So does history matter? Or does it not matter? I’m confused now. You guys flip flop so much it’s hard to keep up.
