Series Talk: [A1] Toronto Maple Leafs vs [WC1] Ottawa Senators | Part II (TOR lead 3-2)

3 of 4 goal Ottawa scored was not goal Stolarz normally allowed this season.

Struzle goal
Pinto goal
Sanderson goal

That's a stretch. Stutzle scored on a one timer and Pinto on a breakaway. Obviously they aren't unstoppable but we're not exactly talking about bad goals.

I feel like people are way over-analyzing dropping one game on the road against a playoff opponent.

I'm pretty sure they don't want a game 6, in Ottawa, that could cause them to go 7, with all the history of failures in such a situation. So the pressure is right now , especially after blowing a 4 minutes PP in OT that could have ended the series.

It's funny because this year, I though the Leafs were legit in what I saw against the Sens, I liked their game - even though they are the Leafs and I hate them lol - butsince I hate the Sens even more, well I rooted for the Leafs. Right now though, I can see a shadow creeping out at the horizon, and tuesday will be big.

Sure if you can close it in 5, you don't want to go in 6 or 7

But at any moment in that serie except 1st period of game 4 leafs didn't look in control of game. That's why i'm not that worried for next game

Doesn't say it was weak goal but it was save Stolarz made at 95 % last 2 month but Sanderson goal was a weak one

I'm waiting for a Senators fan to answer this question

Is it legal to get your elbow up and hit your opponent in the face with your elbow, if you're immobile ? I need to know, thanks.
Its a missed call, is that what you want to hear? There have been many missed calls during this series...what is your point?

I wonder what the narrative will be when they win tomorrow? Seeing as all we haev read is the team is crying in their room waiting to lose because they know they will choke it.

Are we going to have to listen to this after every single loss?

Your narrative on Saturday morning was:

HockeyVirus said:
Happy last day of the Sens being in the playoffs to those who celebrate

So I guess narratives don't mean shit.

I think we know the point. The Leafs got a 4 minute PP in OT and couldn’t score. The fans are scared. And I understand why. They will beat Ottawa but it’s clear they are still a regular season team. I’d be scared too if I were a Leafs fan.

If you can manage to make contact with someone skating by you while standing still and without looking at them, sure.

It’s just kinda funny seeing so many Sens fans on the other side sounding like we used to. Blaming the refs and goaltending and claiming the numbers show they were really the better team without context.
That used to be us lol

And it still is, apparently.

Losing one game in overtime makes it "clear they are still a regular season team"? Logical.

I'll give you your props for being one of the few who dishes it but can also take it back.

Meh, ultimately it's just entertainment.

I enjoy the warm summer off and then around September, the air gets a bit cooler at night and I start getting that familiar excitement about the season starting.

Losing used to bother me a lot more when I was younger - now I take something out of every experience, even if it's just a nice goal or a nice hit, or even appreciating a nice play by a legend on the other team.

Life's too short to get too angry because a bunch of guys didn't put a rubber disc into the net as much as another bunch of guys.

In the moment though, I'm as guilty as anyone of swearing like a sailor. ;)

If I am hearing this correctly, you believe that hockey is not popular because Tavares got hit by a guy who wasn’t looking at him and then returned to the game later?
You are not hearing it correctly.

Below is from the CBVinstitute, a reputable organization.

This is data from 2010 alone. NHL is the lowest franchise value growth of the major four sports. I'm sure if we go back further the numbers won't be any more flattering.

You would think the NHL would be able to sell their brand internationally. The NFL is all about hits, but they take safety far more seriously than the NHL in my opinion, especially their star players and/or QBs
