Game 1 refs, Game 2-4 OT coin flips. This series is a lot closer than people suggest.
Game 2 is the only game that I thought the Sens have been better than the Leafs. There have been periods, like the first tonight, where that's the case as well, but the Sens have not been consistently putting in a strong game for 60+ minutes. They're on the right side of the coin flip tonight, but the edge is firmly with the Leafs and their system of play. I do agree that the series is slightly closer than 3-1 suggests, but not a lot.

59 gp. 24 goals 29 assists
77 gp. 43 goals 70 assists

One stat line is matthews, the other is drasaitl who’s locked in at 14 mil for 8 years while the other will want a raise on his 13.25 mil per contract in a few years. And you wonder why the leafs are failures

1 goal. Isn’t he a goal scorer?

Nathan MacKinnon and those type of guys score goals in big series clinching games. Especially when they play a full 4 minute PP in overtime.

Matthews plays steady defense to neutralize Shane Pinto.

Like I said, good thing Tavares has turned back the clock in the hopes of getting paid again. And good thing Zub took him out (for the Sens). He might have scored.

Whoever wins the cup is going to lose games, no team goes 16-0

A lot of people are going to say that the Leafs are now heading for an historic collapse. Don’t listen to them, guys. This team is different than the past ones.

Sure, you had a 4 minute PP to seal the deal, but there’s nothing you can do about that now. Game 5 is the focus.

It’s not impossible — the Oilers forced a game 7 after being down 0-3 in the freaking Cup finals. Kings in 2014 vs the San Jose Sharks were the last team to actually complete the comeback. If it happened it would be the most traumatic loss in Leafs history, yes even more than 1993. Blowing a 3-0 series lead to their provincial rival in the first round after a 52-win season? Ooof.

Seems to happen way more often in hockey than baseball or basketball.

To be fair Jensen has battled through injury since December guy is a warrior and Mantipako has grown a lot. Zub is sexy, nice strong shoulders.

The right side is still patch work right now till they get Yamekchuk in, not too sure about the Sens D prospects but I assume they got other guys coming in on the right side as well. They might also dip into better UFA players on the defense.

Giroux has done it before with the Flyers.

From 2014/15 until today.

Most goals scored, total:

GPGAPts
Ovechkin812475334809
Matthews629401326727
Draisaitl790399557956

Just as point of reference, this chart is from 2 full seasons before Matthews was drafted :/

I wonder if playing with McDavid has somehow inflated those Draisaitl numbers.
I wonder if playing 2627 minutes (10 in the NHL) on the power play compared to 1871 (92nd) also inflated those numbers.

But, hey.......don't let facts get in the way of your "feelings"

From Ottawa's side, we may want to sit Batherson for any future OTs.
Every player on the Sens tightened up their game with regard to careless penalties (for the most part) after game 1 except Batherson. It's infuriating. The drop passes to no one are giving me early Spezza flashbacks. Can't sit him, but hope someone screams at him between games.
