Series Talk: [A1] Toronto Maple Leafs vs [WC1] Ottawa Senators | Part II (TOR lead 3-1)

This thread makes no sense 😆🤣😆

Everyone talking about how good the leafs are and hour different they are this year, then evened laughing at how pathetic the sens are ans how much more of a fight the jackets would of out up yet the series has been went to overtime twice out of 3 games???

Let's be honest, the Sens were insanely lucky to get to both OTs. Both times they had 0 shots in the entire 3rd and get a lucky bounce going in on their first shot late in the game. These games have not been close, the Leafs are pretty clearly in control the entire time.

Ottawa skating around the outside passing it back and forth and then shooting and having their shot blocked does not mean they are playing well. It means the Leafs are defending smartly

A few thoughts after Game 3. Laugh if you must.

-This is 100% a different Leafs team. Anyone who doesn't see it is either just a blind hater or doesn't watch a lot of hockey. They are playing the exact type of “playoff hockey” that they were ridiculed for not playing in previous years. Limiting scoring chances, playing sound defensive hockey, Core 4 showing up and getting great goaltending (a couple of goals nothwithstanding). They've got a system, and they're executing. And winning the division has its perks (no offense, Ottawa.)

-I think the Sens are getting too much hate. I actually think they’re playing the Leafs hard, but they’re inexperienced and their goaltending is horrid. They've taken two games to OT, so they're not getting their asses handed to them. Their goaltending is horrid. Ullmark is Skinner-esque bad right now. If the Sens lose this series, which is all but certain now, they’ll learn from it and get better. They are going to be a pain in the ass to play for many years.

-Can the Leafs beat Florida or Tampa? Maybe, maybe not, but one thing is certain: if it’s the Panthers, they are going to be playing a much different team than they did two years ago. I think Leafs vs Cats would be a f***ing war. Can't lie.

Let’s finish the job here and then worry about Round 2 when it happens.
Leafs finally beefed up and got defensively sound as well as getting their goaltending under control

Should be a good series if we make it past the Lightning

I wanted to jump in here and congratulate Tim Stutzle on his terrible series so far, and make a suggestion.

First, check out his abysmal numbers

And my suggestion (if he ever scores) is to make this the new goal song

As always, I think it's a combination of both. The Leafs have been much better this season, and Ottawa is simply not good enough in this type of game to excel. They look very much like a team that hasn't been here before.

Sens could be easily up in this series leafs ain't no juggernaut wait till they get punched in the face by tampa or cats or caps or canes.
Cant just say the Leafs have played well against Ottawa, people always gotta try and fit in the insults that they still complete trash and this means nothing lol.

Jokes to see you of all people trying to hype up Ottawa after spending so many early months of this season shit talking Ullmark and going on about how much the Bruins won that trade 🤣

Who would you say is the Leafs MVP for this series?

(And yes, Ullmark would be a funny answer but I already claimed it)
A lot of right answers. Mine is Stolarz. Not only has he given Toronto the most solid goaltending they've had in forever, but his theatrical defence of his crease set a tone that's obviously resonated with their roster.

(I'm sure you're aware your question is phrased in a way that sounds like the series has already ended)

This is foolish. If anything, the leafs would beat Tampa by even bigger margins than they are beating Ottawa, because at least Ottawa has some semblance of a defensive structure. The Leafs would score more against Tampa. As for Florida, I think that would be a series of games that look fairly similar to the past two games against Ottawa: low-scoring, low-event, but likely with a lot more after the whistle stuff.

Benoit is another product of the Anaheim Ducks defenseman factory. Other d-men who have passed through their system in the last decade or so: Lindholm, Fowler, Vatanen, Manson, Theodore, Pettersson, Montour, Mahura, Drysdale etc.
Most of those are just names. A team like Nashville has better ones.
