Anything good to say about the team, say it here. Hell, you’ve got a bakers dozen to choose from if you’re on a negativity bender.

Campbell and Nylander are looking great, Sandin is getting a chance to prove he belongs, AM is back and will be scoring soon. The jersey’s look great and I’m in a good mood. Have a great day, folks, don’t forget that our sickness for the team is ours for as long as we want it, nobody is forcing it down our throats

They won the most recent game. Potential progress has to begin somewhere. A loss last night would have been a big deal and justifiably so. The other side of that token is them accomplishing all they could in that one game.

Last night, the bounce-back effort was promising

If they had given up and were done they'd have played it out and taken a 3 or 4-1 loss

Players fought back, moved the puck well and the PP had some decent movement and looks

Still far from perfect, but we got games to get to that point. This season is about rising above adversity and collectively finding ways to be ready to perform.

Marner/JT/Matthews hopefully can use this game as a means to motivate themselves and take all the criticism they've received to fuel them. They are being openly mocked and ridiculed both within leaf's nation and outside by the external hockey media and NHL fans alike.

They have to show they won't accept this level of humiliation and prove they are amongst the best players in the world by dominating other opposition's defenses both in shot creation/generation and finishing.

It is time to put up a historical month of production for these three guys and give us a dominant month of November helping us move towards securing a top 3 spot in the Atlantic.

Go Leafs Go!

For me the most promising sign this season is how Matthews is showing some vocal leadership. He is clearly tired of failure. Even if his criticism alienates a couple players on the current roster i'm okay with that, move them out and replace them with guys that can accept being held accountable.
You can be sure Keefe and the other players tired of the teams lack of success loved his fire last night.

Sandin and Bunting seem like night in night out gamers. Dermott is versatile. Team could get a small boost when Mikheyev returns. We all know that the Muzzin/Holl pairing can play much better than they've played thus far.

Jack Campbell, Spezza and Nylander have been the light in the darkness so far for this season.

I'm not ashamed of anything I've said about this team, I have believed for so long and that display against Pittsburgh was just pathetic, having said that any team can turn it around.

Look at St.Louis going from 8th to the cup.

I hope the team turns it around, the defensive play of the team on all fronts has been atrocious with turn overs, but I did enjoy Lil so far so thats another positive and Sandin.

Engvall found his spine last night. He can stay if he plays like that.
Agree he can only play with us if he grows a pair and plays like that routinely/consistently. When you are a big, 6'5 dude with good athletism and skating, stop trying to be a finesse and skilled player when you don't have very much skill.

Play Zach Hyman hockey (heavy forecheck) + develop a mean/physical streak and he'll be loved by the fanbase

His shooting skills are still very depressing, especially his 1-T. He's fanned on like 5-6 of them this season. He needs to be playing below the goal line and in front of the net on his line. Play a heavy tough game and your value will increase, with the points coming at a solid rate

So true. I usually have people come over to watch the games and they're familiar with my disdain for Engvall( i refer to him as a giant jellyfish) and his unwillingness to enter the physicality department. I was reminded of it regularly last night.
We call him 'Lucky Pete'.
He's lucky he has a roster spot.

This team still has talent.

Matthews still looks like a franchise player, the Maple Leafs can build the team around him and contend for years.

Nylander has progressed greatly, and under the current circumstances, that is remarkable. He's turned into a good pro.

A couple of young Swedish defensemen on the Leafs look to be real NHL players. It is not easy to find defensemen, it never is.

The question is how to unlock all the potential, and who to replace to find the right mix.

There are always changes to NHL teams, and this I suspect will happen soon.

After they fired Babcock, I have not watched much.

My renewed interest in following hockey again, is that the fans sense change is in the air.

That is a positive.

My thoughts to be optimistic early

The teams depth and goaltending look good early on, which were the big preseason concerns.

The core will figure it out.

I'm bullish on a lot of players on this team

Sadly Nick Ritchie isn't one of them

Why can't he provide value anywhere in the lineup?

Didn't work on line 1, nor line 3 and naw not on line 4.

He's only making 2.5M but I need 25-30 points in a bottom 6 role from him along with beign a physician presence who can force defenders to look over there shoulders.

His role will be vital come playoffs as if he's on he can open up space for the offensive guys and be banging some rebounds in.

He's got to hungrier. He's got more skill than Engvall and should be nastier on the forechek. He's being lazy and uninvolved to often at this point.

We need Spezza or Simmonds talking to him telling him that he does the physical aspect on the line, he'll be rewarded with points as Spezza is still a very gifted in offensive zone puck mover. He'll get chances with them and can put up good numbers in that role.

Ritchie your playing for your home city. You got to show the passion and love you had as a fan of this team growing up. Don't let your skills be wasted due to not giving enough of a damn to play to your strengths.

What Carlyle told Kadri, you gotta play a north and south game, and not go east and west. Kadri was a better player after that.

The sooner someone lays down the law and tells Marner to play a north and south game instead of thinking he's still in junior hockey or pee wee hockey, the better that will be for Marner's development and career.

Looking at the Leafs now, seems to me no one will tell him that.

Play a north and south game, or get traded. That is what Babcock or Lamareillo would have told Marner.

We are not seeing it, but there is still a lot of upside to Marner.

He does not have the answers, Marner is only a kid, in a game played by harden men in the NHL. He needs help.

Someone in the organization should tell him how to play in the NHL.

Extreme tough love is what Marner needs. That will give direction to his passion to play.

To think how much I loved Marner's game back in his rookie and sophomore seasons. He looked like he was on his way to hardening up into some superstar version of a battle-hardened man like Justin Williams. Instead he's taken his game backwards to being a dancing, contact avoiding kid playing up a year or two in the GTHL.

Positive - Nylander continues to make his doubters look stupid.

Once upon a time, Mitch Marner was a fun-loving adorable young gun, flipping pucks up to young fans in warm-up and playing with the puck attached his string & a smile attached to his face.

This current Marner looks miserable. I'm glad we saw some smiles again last night, but the Leafs biggest challenge with Mitch is to find a way to get him to fall in love with the game and that exuberant side of his game, again.
