What about, instead of gimmick teams - and ruining several teams in order to make it competitive. We just remove Canada.

Then the next 8 teams are all of a sudden competitive to each other. Problem solved :naughty:

That's not such a bad idea at all. And I'd watch with even greater interest!

Finland and Sweden are good enough on their home, they don't have to be combined.

1 goal scored and 9 let in is not very fun...how you gonna REPLACE and ADD to the existing finnish team until 2020?

We need one guy to make out of all those. And that s not even including KHL keepers (Mr Vanilla Koskinen) or any of the drafted kids.

Goaltender = Zero problems.

Blue line is still crap for Finland. I wouldn't even take RR over the swedes into a joint team.

Only thing worse than losing against a Gimmick team:
getting relegated to be a part of one.

How long will it take till people realize mixing teams is another nail to hockey coffin?

Switzerland invested a lot of money into hockey, have big fan base, great league for european standards, got silver in WC. Instead of boost them and invite them for WC, sorry you are not good enough. Hockey already lost Slovakia. Now czechs should be in team Europe despite they trying to change their decline direction. Swinland now....what else

Risto makes the team. Swedish defensemen are fancy puck losers.

WARNING: "Hit" story coming here, will end up in Expressen in three days:

"Oh, there are three swedes in defensive zone and....waaaaaiiiiit...on the radar there is a Slovakian speedforward approaching...let's COUNT the seconds until the puck is lost...ONE.....TWO.....THREE....AND the Slovak gets his stick on the puck which bounce into the corner and a swedish stick misses the puck which stands on its edge and gets on the skates on the only swede who hasn't run into the other and WHOOPS, there's a second opponent taking it...

And a nordic team without a finnish goalie is a styggelse [stidj-el-se]. Actually we might leave a carte blanche for that to happen.

Nordic Team defense:

Lindholm - Ristolainen
Gunnarsson - Larsson
Ekholm - Hjalmarsson
Nemeth - Brodin

In four years both Finland and Sweden on their own should be dangerous.

Can't imagine they would want to split the glory of beating Canada and Russia.
