Came to see how glazed this chat was from @joescores' explosion over "flakey Dan" and his exploits tonight.

Wasn't disappointed. Haha.
Ha ha yeah mate, just too flaky that Danny boy and he is my new whipping boy. Honestly folks, let's stop calling him a decent goalie, you simply can't rely on him. 8 goals against less than 30 shots? Come on. Unacceptable.

He shit the bed the bed on the back 2/3 of the game no doubt. The guys in front of him did too, particularly in the 3rd. Can hardly believe how lob-sided this one turned out.

I think the general consensus is that he's a more than capable backup goalie in the league. He's going to get exposed on lesser teams which we are one. Hot start and now the coverage is breaking down more and more often and he's left out to dry. Some stinkers for sure, but not really that many more than others on dogshit teams.

Playing more than ever before as well as the 1a/b thing they're doing this year to slowly bring Wolf into that #1 role for a decade plus (we hope).

My pride and shining joy Mr. Wolf has also come down to earth as of late.

I'm not even a massive Vladar guy, I just think you're hilariously hyperbolic about his deficiencies.

I am now firmly in the tank wagon. Will cheer every win but also a loss. We need to reshape this "pretender" and draft as high as possible.

I won't be taking it seriously and will install some fun in my mindset to accept this dross (will try).

Look forward to trading Andersson and Coleman/their returns.

And that's fine I think. We are all different, see it from subjective and diverse angles and at least have something to talk about or we end up (1 day) on 2 pages per thread :)

Flaky Dan sucks :D

I am 43, I am a modest guy and want just 1 cup in my lifetime, and will travel to Calgary when we clinch it. That's all I want but this isn't the team making it possible, so we just have to accept it, have some fun, exchange some views and roll onto the next one.

The next trade moves are crucial in my view, that will dictate a lot.

The team in front of them sucks defensively. This last couple weeks is exactly what I expected from day 1. We're going to drop faster than than a John's drawls in a brothel

I’m ready for the negative reaction to this post, but here’s a crazy fact. Tampa did not have a single skater on their entire roster they drafted with a 1st round pick playing tonight. The only player was Vasilevskiy, who allowed 3 goals on 22 shots (I say this knowing he’s an elite elite goaltender).

Food for thought for the people saying there’s only one way to build a team.

It is prudent to acknowledge that Hedman who as a 2nd OA pick and instrumental to their success didn't play tonight due to injury

That’s great to hear, but he played no part in the 8-3 thrashing Calgary experience tonight. He’s a top defenseman, but Calgary has their share of those on the team and in the pipeline.

Or is your argument that the difference between Tampa this season and Calgary is Hedman compared to Weegar/Andersson and absolutely nothing else?

Lol precisely. I was shocked at Bahl's level of play/consistency for 20 games. Regression to the mean and then some was due for the entire d corps.

Combined with our pathetic scoring aptitude is not a recipe for success one covets.

We need a change in PK personnel. When you are running 70% that just isn't good enough.

Rooney would be a good start. Not a great defensive player and ensures our top pk unit will be absolutely 0 threat on offense.

It's 1 game, who gives a f***. If they win the cup this year then you can say I told you so all you want but this is just pathetic at this point.

This might be shocking news to some here. Talented teams beat bad teams often.

Now that our goalies aren’t league leaders, we’ll be seeing a lot more of this. Hoping that we didn’t play our way out of a top 10 pick already.

This year is very different than recent years in terms of how the bottom hasn't really fallen out in the standings. A great deal of compression still, and the team at the very bottom is expected to come back up a bit.

That said, let's revisit after the Flames pull out a win against Florida just to once again swing the narrative back.
