It said unassisted, but there is no way he could have brought enough food and water in his little cabin for 90+ days.... no? Either way, what he did is ridiculous and very impressive.

Yeah... but drinking water for 90+ days would. Especially for someone spending so much time in the sun basically exercising all day. Heavy as ****, too.

I wonder if the solar panels were hooked up into some sort of water purification.desalinator so he didn't have to carry any

Maybe? Wouldn't think that would be realistic from the perspective of how big the filet would have to be, but I'm just talking out of my ass and don't know **** about trying to filter saltwater.

The Guardian article has more details, he paddled mostly at night and slept in the little cabin while the sun was up. Doesn't really say what he did for water, though protein shakes were a part of his diet.

Some other little details on how technology evened the odds for man vs nature, the craft was also self stabilizing and had some sort of anchor system. So during storms he could just bunker down inside and ride it out.

He knows you can get boats with engines nowadays, right? And planes that can fly across? Idiot.

So? I had to get off my couch and change the TV channel because I couldn't find the remote. You don't see an article about that grueling accomplishment.

Would be interested to see how he got clean water, looks like he was being followed so it would have been very easy to cheat.

But I'll be happy to be wrong. Just not enough details.

I'm always skeptical about these types of extraordinary feats even if they haven't been debunked. Wim Hof and David Blaine (not his card tricks, his actual, supposedly legit stunts) are two guys that haven't necessarily been debunked, but I'm confident are frauds.

Have you seen David Blaine's Ted Talk about his record for holding his breath underwater? After watching that, I was convinced.
