All through out this board, I see comments like "Orr is useless, I don't want him in the line up" or fourth lines that have Komarov Steckel Frattin, with no Orr and Brown. Do you people feel comfortable having Brown as the only legitimate scrapper on the team? And please don't tell me " Komi, Phaneuff, Komarov and Brown is good enough to keep the other team in check". Komi is an average fighter who will drop when he needs to but isn't making the other team think twice before doing something stupid, Phaneuff is our captain not a guy you want scraping a lot and Brown is an elite middle weight, hes not a guy you want to fight heavies or multiple time a game. Komarov is not a fighter, hes been in like a few fights his whole career. According to people at the camp, Orr has lost around twenty pounds, making him lighter. Hes skating has improved by leaps and bounds and looks decent at camp. I'd rather have him on the team then Steckel, Lombardi and Connoly, Who are all washed up and not offer the team anything great.
Look at our own division and how tough it got. Boston is probably the toughest or one of the toughest team in the league. Montreal has Prust, Moen, White,Bourque and Boullion ,they are not the pushovers and with their roster tougher than the leafs. Buffalo, got Big John Scott, added Steve Ott and plus have Cody McMormick and Foligino. Ottawa has Neil, Smith and Greening. Plus the Panthers got tougher with Parros, Lighting got Crombeen along with Aulie, Isles got Carkner, and Boulton in the offseason plus with Hamonic and and Martin they are one of the tougher teams in the league, the Hurricanes traded for Westgrath and the GM Rutherford said he wants to add another tough guy and has said he is making his team tougher because that is how the east is shaping up. Do we really want another soft team in the toughest division in hockey and a really tough conference? It makes no sense to expose our small top 9, with no added muscle making sure they can play confidently. I hope our fourth line is Orr Komarov Brown and Fraser makes the team to. Having Orr, Brown, Fraser and Komo on the team will allow us to compete with the other teams in our division.
