i did NOT root for any particular country for these olympics...

like everyone else on this board i enjoy hockey, and the international competition is very interesting...

HOWEVER, the way the nhl crammed this down the players throats is a damn shame!!!!!

if they move forward for future olympics the schedule has got to change...

I'd rather have this than no Olympics at all, but the schedule is too tight. Add 4 or 5 days to the break!!!

The NHL crammed this down the players throat?

I understood the players insisted they be allowed to participate in the Olympics.

Anywho, I agree about the schedule. It is just nuts that some of these guys will be playing in the Gold medal final Sunday and in the NHL Tuedsay.

Also, whoever loses in the Russia/Finland game is at a disadvantage IMHO,seeing as the bronze medal game is something like 20 hours later....

I think what he meant to say was that they crammed the schedule (of both the NHL and the Olympics).

Eg, in the NHL, there is a rule that no team can play more than 6 games in 9 nights....in this tournament teams are playing 6 in 8.

NHLPA president Trevor Linden, Canuck coach Marc Crawford, and Canucks GM Dave Nonis were on local radio yesterday and each said (in separate interviews) that something has to be done about the schedule for the Vancouver games in 2010.
