Chibrikov is a legit AAA prospect. He's a little undersized and he's Russian so he's been overlooked a bit, IMO. A little Chibi refresher for those who need it:

Between the KHL/VHL/AHL/NHL he's got almost 200 pro games played.

Captain of team Russia at the 2021 U18 - finished fourth in scoring with 13 points, behind Connor Bedard and Shane Wright who both had 14 points and Matvei Michkov who had 16. Pretty good players.

Scored in his first ever NHL game last year.

Currently leads the Moose with 13 points.

Creative with the puck, very nice passer and a strong shot.

You forgot feisty like a Rat... lets call him "Krysa" Chibrokov...

Strong on the puck...

Goes in the corners and in the dirty areas to retrieve pucks...

Brave...

Yeah, he should be great on the forecheck, and the second line could use a player like that. It's also why I think he could contribute in the bottom six as well, maybe take Appleton's icetime if he moves on in the offseason.

was solid last night. didn't zone in on him exclusively all night but the shot was money, 2 drawn penalties too, and 4 hits registered... that wasn't a great team in BOS, but not to the level of suck of BUF/CHI/CBJ like lambert got to play against.

imo he's the type of player the top-6 could use. ideally a guy with more size, but seems like he can play that agitator role and still chip in offensively.

at the minimum, when the fwd are healthy they should consider him for barron who has done nothing all year.

Great 1st game of the season by Chibrikov. He almost had 2 assists if the 2nd goal didn't hit the post and then was put in. Still scored a goal and got an assist. Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't he drafted as a 5'9" forward. He is now listed on hockeydb as 5'11" and 193lbs isn't small.

He's built like a fireplug, low centre of gravity and hard to push around.

I think he's going to be a high-motor high-skill player and fan favourite who can move up and down lines and be solid in all three zones. Has a wicked release and good vision and seems to be able to pick up on and adapt to the play of linemates.

If he gets close to peak Perrault I'm delighted.

Barron is kinda like Armia. Has the skill and size to play good hockey most of the time and couple times a year makes you think, wow! He could really be something impressive offensively in the right situation if he can play like that consistently but you have to wait another 30 games to see it again.

Jets list him at 5'10, 170lbs. You'll never get a straight answer to the height/weight question. 😁

Avg NHL fwd size is 6', 198lbs.

Getting solid NHL players out of 2nd round picks is massive for keeping a team contending. After drawing a fat goose egg in that regard for their first 6 drafts (unless you count Harkins), they may now get players out of the 2nd round in 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022.

Always liked Chibrikov. Felt like a smart pick at the time, and is looking like there might be something there.

Really nice to see his game on the Jets last night, and glad the org kind of rotated him and Lambert. Not a knock against Lambert, but they both deserved to be rewarded (and are different types of players).

Hopefully Chib can keep up his high motor play and stay healthy. He could be a real swiss army type player for the Jets. Play both top 6 and bottom 6, etc.

For those that have been to more Moose games than me, has he ever been used much on the PK? Maybe a future role there as well possibly.

I'd say Chibby is about 5 -10 to 5 -11 and about 170 lbs, by looking at him. He's not small, and not big, but he's very feisty and tough. and not scared of the high danger areas. I like this guy very much. I see him as a future top sixer. He really could turn out to be a star player.

I'd say both him and Lambert will be big winners for the Jets, although it may take Lambert a bit longer.

maybe. i thought armia had better hands and puck skills comparatively, but not going to get a long-winded back and forth on the 2 players.

barron is big and fast for sure. he had a solid goal scoring numbers given his minutes last year however he's yet to score a goal on a goalie this year and i don't find anything else really of his game that stands out. ppl were talking about trading appleton to have chibrikov in, meanwhile barron is just doing cardio out there most nights.

it's 1 game with chibrikov so trying to temper excitement / expectations... but i think at the minimum could be in for barron, and if there's a top-9er who is struggling or the team needs a jump in-game, he could possibly be an option to move up. would anyone want to see this year's barron move up the line up alternatively

Tough to say. Playing on the wing is easier than stepping into a 2C role like Lambo did. With any luck, Lambo would have buried those 2 chances he has and have 2 goals.
Chib played great, let's see how he does in different game. I'm hopeful. Both are developing nicely.
Lambos speed is really impressive though. It's why Perfetti struggles sometimes, he just doesn't have speed

I'm liking this kid. He's not the biggest. But he's got some impressive wheels and his hands look to be NHL calibre for sure. He also has shown quite a knack for being in the right place at the right time on both his goals and especially on the defensive side of the puck. There will be growing pains, but I think Chib may be a better prospect than Lambert right now (I'm still really high on Lambert, btw)
