Despite having a horrendous start to the season, the Oilers are still at -205$ for tonight!! That's how sure the book makers are about our chances ...

Let's go Pens!!!

Moving this from the other thread…this one’s gonna be a laugher…good thing I’m having a birthday weekend in Wine Country and will be drinking heavily this weekend and may not be able to watch…although watching this sober would be one of life’s miseries …lol

“The Penguins last beat Edmonton in December 2019. Since then Edmonton is 7-0-0 against Pittsburgh with a combined score of a 35-10 margin. Last year the Pens were outscored 10-1 by EDM in their two matchups, which may/may not be an improvement over the 13-5 aggregate score of the teams the season prior in 2022-23.”

Giving up high danger changes left and right against 2 MVP caliber players with a career back up or a rookie who wasn't expecting to be in the NHL this year in goal? What could go wrong?

Last season, this fixture was a complete shit show. Wasn't the Edmonton loss the last one on that Western Canadian trip? Didn't we trade Jake Guentzel after this loss? I remember the team quitting on the head coach midway through that loss at Edmonton last season. Maybe I am wrong about some of this.

The Oilers are what the Penguins were in 2017, when our studs were 7 years younger. These days, Edmonton can outscore their problems (of which they have a few), but Crosby and Malkin can no longer. Plus the Oilers are slightly better defensively. Not hard to do.

I think the guys might be up for tomorrow night's game against all of the ex-Pens, but tonight? Take the over. Take the Oilers. Hold your nose. Close your eyes.

Sucks for Blomqvist.

Just hoping for some points from Sid and Geno tbh. Expecting a loss, but hockey's f***ing dumb and nothing makes sense so I wouldn't be shocked to see the Pens win.

When was the last time we beat Edmonton, 2021? Gonna be a laugher. Just wondering if it'll be 5, 6, or 7 goals against.

Friday December 20th 2019 !! Beat them 5-2

Since then,

The Oilers hold a record of 7-3-3 in those 13 previous meetings and have outscored the Penguins 51-35 – including six straight wins and back-to-back victories last season with a 6-1 win on home ice on March 3 and a 4-0 shutout out at the PPG Paints Arena on March 10
