This is a good strategy. The more low character players we pick up the more likely it is one of them hits.

We ride the 50 point season ->embarrassing break up formula to multiple cups.
I’ve always loved talented guys who get passed on for character issues or poor defensive play (or both in the case of Tony D and Ryan Merkley). Like Josh Ho-Sang as well. When he was on waivers, I wanted him so so so bad. It’s like ok, the talent is there. The character issues just mean that it’s gonna cost less to acquire them. And I believe (maybe naively) that guys can and will grow out of them eventually, so at the end of the day, it’s not a big issue. And with defensive play, I’m like ok it’s harder to learn offensive skill than it is to learn how to play defense imo. So I look for offense first (generally).

There are other reasons too, like being more motivated when you’re selected later than you thought.

Will be interesting to hear how our hometown announcers sugar coat the current events. They sure nuff' will find a way.:)

I wasn’t aware that Ryan Strome had any history of character issues

Maybe it would actually matter more if the team was ready to contend. However, this team is basement dwelling & doesn't look like that's gonna change for the foreseeable future.
This is where I think you and I really disagree. I see the NHL as a softer, younger man's game and I think this team is just a little too soft and a little too young. I think it can be ironed-out presently and the Rangers may contend sooner than later. The window will then close. It's a young man's game, and whoever picks up Tony D (hopefully Philly) will realize it's getting exponentially younger each day.

Win or lose tonight, it is not the end of the world. I will watch the game, not thinking about what's going on outside the game.
At least most of the team get to play and I think it is good for them. Even if they don't win, it is still good practice, and they get to work on their skills. I will miss Kakko, though, but oh well.

Still no MRA results, and I just got back from my sports doctor appointment. Welp, turns out I was misdiagnosed this whole time and have been playing hockey on a torn ACL for over a year. Now it’s outside of my insurance claim window too so I’ll be paying lots of $$$

I'm happy to have a game to watch tonight and I must admit that I was wrong about the weather affecting play. The mayor obviously acquiesced with an unwritten exemption to his essential workers only travel decree proclaimed today. I shouldn't be surprised, and I'm still learning how every playing field evolves.

Bummer, sorry :/

Imagine getting the puck behind an AHL defense.

It'd be nice for a coach to gameplan against a teams weakness and/or adjust
