tbh laf doesn't even deserve first line minutes lol
Pretty clear. He should be on the third line which is not such a bad thing. I think he needs to score more of goals going to the net. Its pretty clear he doesn't have the flash or confidence right now to generate 1 on 1 for himself.

The problem is, top-6 is looking for break-outs but not working hard enough to get them. That would require hard skating.

Need Gallant to bash into the heads of these forwards, they need to keep skating and looking for lanes. I mean in the future NYR can have as dynamic of a D as Colorado does, when you fully insert Lundkvist, Jones, and maybe Miller improves/Schneider does it. But it needs work. Right now only Fox can make those great passes when our offense is so passive to break out. And that's why it looks slow.

Laf would be fine driving that third line and getting PP2 mins at his age. He just wasn’t drafted by a team that’s going to play him 20 mins and pp1 unfortunately for him. But I think slotting him in correctly will only help him. Kakko should be on the first line when he comes back

yea they just dont move their legs. moving backwards or we're facing shesty half the time while trying to make a pass. you need multiple moving parts and speed through the neutral zone. its not rocket science.

I feel like scouting reports may have exaggerated some of Laf's better qualities.

I need WAY WAY more from Alexei Lafranchise - dude is invisible.

We need more from the vets first and foremost. Laf is playing like Zib and Panarin, just watching what's going on to pick his seams. When he does try to play physical he gets himself out of position (like a 3 on 2 for Calgary earlier). Can't have the top lines playing like that, everyone needs to hustle.
