you need shooting threats on the dots to be successful.They were running a 1-3-1, but sometimes they rotate out of it, you aren't always going to be in formation. I really don't see how you can complain about the PP tonight, they were on it. Only reason they didn't score was the opposing goaltender.
They rarely bring it in tight and we did not have the proper personnel lined up
puck movement was better. Zibs is still the only 'main' threat. Why? Why can't Panarin be set up to one-time on the left dot? Why can't a LHS be set up to one-time from the right-dot? 1-3-1 is about taking whats open. Letting the puck movement create open lanes. If open lanes are presented with no threat of shooting.... whats the point? besides puck possession, which we had in spades
The individual talent made the best of it but its a poor PP setup by design. Our best chances came with the chaos of broken down plays not because of the 'structure'
