Howden doesn’t do anything at an NHL level. The only parts of his game that are NHL level are his size and his effort. That’s it.

He has subpar skill. He can’t accept passes. He’s in his 3rd season. Very basic things that most college players can do, he can’t.

I think he’s been effective so far this season. He’s never been a flashy player so if this the your expectation, he won’t meet it
