Kapptrick incoming. Nah — I’m just joking. Hoping for a respectable attempt and some entertainment from the Great Eight and Breadman.

You know how they say you can’t rebuild in NY? It’s not the losing that fans can’t deal with. I’m convinced of that. It’s the absolute zero lack of patience watching the kids develop. If they aren’t stars like Adam Fox from day one it’s never ending negativity. No one should be surprised that 18 and 19 year olds are inconsistent or that they get tired or look like they need to get stronger quicker. OBVIOUSLY. If you watch a kid and see glimpses of brilliance or raw talent be excited and watch them grow into what they’re going to be. Enjoy the ride. I mean a week into the season the Kakko shit had started. He was barely 18 and stepping foot into a new country for the first time. Chytil barely 20 years old. Larry Brooks today writing articles that it’s time to unleash Kakko. He’s a hall of fame writer. This part of it is as much about the rebuild as the tear down and losing. Do you really not think at 20 Kakko isn’t going to be bigger stronger faster more confident? Of course he is.

jack Hughes Kirby Dach Kakko all around 20 pts. All struggling to get thru it. They aren’t all busts. They’re future stars showing glimpses and learning. They’ll get there

I would feel a bit more confident if he wasn't the lowest rated forward or defenseman in the entire league under one set of ratings. McIlrath is about 8 spots better.

He might become great, but what an absolute tragedy of a rookie season for a guy with those kinds of expectations.

During Hanks hot streaks that generally took up about 40% of the season, softies were rare. When he was on but not searing hot he'd make amazing saves but also let in the occasional softie. When he was cold you'd question your memories of when he was hot and on because he looked like a different goalie, but his cold streaks seemed to comprise only about a month or so of the season.

I agree with your assessment on Georgiev. He let's in too many softies but still manages to keep the team in the game for the most part when it matters. Hank is cooked at this point.
If I may generalize a bit...When Henrik was King the softies were often inconsequential. Like ‘lost the shutout’ kind of goals. Not always the case, of course. But I don’t remember too many softies at critical times. Now, it seems they’re pretty indiscriminate, indeed.

Well on Georgiev if we follow the pattern after a game off.

First game back good not great usually a softee or two

second game lights out

third game a joke

This would be game 2 so he’s due for a good one.

FAAARRRRTTT.

Tragedy of a season? Holy f*** the hyperbole just made my dude @Machinehead roll his eyes.

The lowest rated forward or defenseman in the entire league for someone that many thought was the most NHL -ready player isn't a horrendous disappointment?

Mark Staal has had a better season. McIlrath has had a better season. If Staal was last, everyone would say well, duh.

Hey, Kakko might have a great career, but if he plays like crap we should look the other way?

Do analytics only matter when you agree with them? I guess they only matter sometimes.

Machinehead, the champion of analytics, has already stated he would not want the Rangers to win the Cup if he found their system boring. That makes no sense to me.

Analytics only mattering sometimes makes no sense to me.

Analytics are either an accurate barometer of on-ice performance or not. Howden gets his balls roasted here every day and according to analytics is outplaying Kakko.

There are always players who must be worshipped and others who must be berated.

Mentioning “thanks to Delta Air Lines” kinda cheapens the whole event. I get that this is just a PR stunt, but show a little class if you’re really portending to support a cause.

Lets f***in go!
