Lets be realistic about a playoff run. They have played very well since the all star break and have exceeded expectations. Now without Igor and Chris and tougher opponents in a playoff race do not be surprised if the wheels come off. Odds are below .500 rest of the way with some lopsided losses. We don't have the horses.

Doesn't help that their schedule is brutally tough the rest of the way.

NHL strength of schedule for rest of 2019-20
Strength of schedule rest of way for all teams. Rangers 29th with a .600 win percentage. Only saving grace, Columbus is 30th with .660 and Carolina 23rd with .550.

Problem is we’re behind both of those clubs still. Need a miracle. Essentially need some stifling team defense the rest of the way, excellent special teams, and for guys like Zibanejad and Panarin to go ballistic.

This is who it’s going to come down to...Batman and Robin babay.

This team really misses Kreider. Chytil also appears to be floundering a bit. He looks like the player that got sent to Hartford.

They need to dig deep and find some push back if they're going to make a playoff run.
It'd be nice to get some production from our 3-4 lines. Chytil and Kakko need to start stepping up.

Yup. Good (playoff) teams get production from their depth, their 3rd and 4th lines. The Rangers need Panarin, Mika, Kreider, DeAngelo or Fox to get shit done and if they don't have it that night its game over.

Last game against the Blues was maybe the most frustrating game of the season. We had no chance. Men against boys. Hope this time we look we have even a theoretical chance to win.
They did last game too. Maybe it’s the JD connection, maybe they’re just a smart fan base. They also went through a rebuild after the 2005 lockout.
