He needed to upgrade at 2C and now with no Chytil, we have Howden at 3C, which is a disaster. We are in for a hell of a run.

Putting that much stock in face offs is how you end up trading a 1st for Gaustad.

Jack Johnson was pretty clearly a request from Martin. Whether or not you start your new coach’s time with you by telling him to f*** off is up to your managerial style I guess.

B. Trade for a middle 6 center (ideally top 6 center, but we are against the cap and it will probably cost a ton), with Strome included as a cap dump.

Just fire Gorton and Quinn at this point. And don’t do this partial rebuild nonsense. Do it right. Right now we are neither rebuilding nor competing. Why are Artemi and Trouba on our roster if we’re rebuilding? Just get some plugs in the FA market and give the kids ice time.

Agreed, I think a loss in game 10 (which would probably put them at around 5 points) should be the push for a major move.

I’ll provide what might be the minority opinion here:

I had no problems with the kids. I thought Laf looked assertive. I though Kakko continued to play very well. Howden was excellent. Miller, Fox, etc. no complaints.

My issue is the f***ing vets. They are dispassionate. Unassertive and disjointed.

Panarin looks like he is trying to social distance on the ice.

Strome looks like a stroke victim. Etc. etc.

I’m not concerned about the youth on this team. I’m annoyed at the guys who haven’t shown up in 10 god damn months at this point.

...are you saying face offs aren’t important? I’m sorry, but you can sign a FA face off winning center. You’re making it sound like you have to overpay for a C. Winning face offs leads to having the puck and dictating pace and play.
