There is no forecheck on this team. Relying on the likes of Blackwell for that. Everyone else is perimeter playing.
With MacInnis, Blake, Chara and Weber at the points, it’s no wonder we stick to the perimeter.

Too many guys playing like they're afraid to make a mistake. That's on the coaching.
When half the roster is underperforming and the PP and PK stink its on coaching.

We have too much talent to play this way.

Our breakouts are pathetic. We have no tempo. We mishandled the puck. We overpass. We get no 2nd or 3rd chances. We dont finish checks. Nobody wants to the pay the price. Nobody tries to get to the middle of the ice. We dump the puck in and nobody chases. We have no clue vs a 1-2-2 or a 1-4.

I never felt this coach had a great scheme but they have clearly tuned him out. Its time to go.

This is what happens when you put all your money into wingers. Panarin, Laf, Kakko, Kreider, Buch, Kravtsov, etc. We’re neglecting the most important position and it shows. It’s gonna be a whole bunch of first round exits with this team build.

There are still trades to be found for a center. The sad part is that one of those trades should have been Kreider at the deadline for the ammunition to move up and select Lundell.

Just keep on losing. At this post I just want to see a new coach and another high pick.

Face offs are a MAJOR issue. It needs to be addressed.

Panarin spent too much time chopping wood and deking his dog out this off-season which must of messed up his hand eye. Shots go wide most of the time.

Zibanejad just looks completely out of shape. I know he had covid but what did he do the rest of the off season?

David Quinn needs to stop shuffling lines non stop. How are we supposed to get any chemistry going?

Too much to write. Horrible all around performance.

I can't blame Zibanejad. Covid may very well have ended Ezekiel Elliott's career. Some people take months to get full lung function back. If Zibby's lungs aren't in peak condition due to the virus, it doesn't matter how much offseason work he did. Hockey is very cardio heavy and if his lungs are at 80%.... well then it will impact the entirety of his product significantly

I'm sure I will get heat for this but hard not to be disappointed with Lafreniere and to a lesser extent Kakko so far.

I get that it's a big adjustment...and our/my expectations may have been too high...and that it's been a weird 10 months of hockey w the pandemic.

But while Kakko to his credit looks much improved, in 6 games neither has shown even a glimmer of being a potential franchise player. Kids have struggles, I am not expecting finished products, but I am talking about real flashes the way a player like Miller has provided flashes.

I am hoping beyond all hope that there are better days to come...it is going to require more patience than I expected.

I can't help but feel the same way. Kakko had a brutal rookie season and has shown improvement this season but at the same time, I watch him and his skating hinders him to the point where he always looks a step behind.

And while I'm not expecting a 19 year old kid to come in and light it up off the bat, it's just about the Rangers luck that their number 1 pick is kept off the score sheet entirely in his first 6 NHL games while looking pretty ineffective beyond a few limited flashes.

Maybe it's the weird season with no exhibition games and a short camp but disappointment is definitely the feeling I have at the moment. On the flip side, I can't help but feel the complete opposite with guys like Fox, Miller, and Chytil which is a bright spot.

Throwing away all the mistakes and the bad moves that Quinn makes you gotta fire him to wake the team up. Front office should send a message that we’re not f***ing around.

Trade for Dunn Gorton, I cant watch jack Johnson anymore

You know it’s bad when you’re yearning for Marc Staal instead of Johnson
At least Staal would pass it up the middle once in a while. JJ just dumps it along the boards. The worst decision they made was not resigning Fast and getting JJ.

At least Ron Low admitted he was clueless. He literally answered questions with "I dont know." This guy is pretty pompous after games.
Quinn handles press conference like he’s Joel Quennville or something. As if he has a resume that speaks for itself.

You’re a f***ing loser dude. Go back to college where all your decisions amount to spoon feeding seniors big minutes and bc it’s a top end school so you had good recruiting classes. No NHL style systems are necessary or at least very limited versions.

I don’t care if this guy is best friends with Drury and Gorton and he quit his dream job to come here. It’s 3 years now and he is completely clueless.

He’s lost. Directionless. A coach so far in over his head.

There’s always excuse. Oh the pandemic. Oh the roster has a lot of kids. This and that. Sorry it’s not good enough. This guy f***ing blows.

We’re gonna be 5 years in to his contract and still suck ass and play directionless, aimless hockey and bc the roster will still be young there will still be excuses.

Just fire Gorton and Quinn at this point. And don’t do this partial rebuild nonsense. Do it right. Right now we are neither rebuilding nor competing. Why are Artemi and Trouba on our roster if we’re rebuilding? Just get some plugs in the FA market and give the kids ice time.

Hope everybody comes to grips that if Quinn got fired (which he isn't) , you guys might as well just get on the Jacques train because he's next to get the tap on the shoulder from Gorts. Which again won't happen, but I'd be fine with Martin personally.
Not now, but next.

If Mika is injured he needs to sit. I honestly don't think anyone can play worse than him right now. If he's not injured he needs to be traded because he's dogging it.
Always thought this NAME MIKA C meme was dumb, even with how great of a season he had last year he’s always seemed mentally weak. He’s not someone who breathes hockey, he’s milquetoast and has very little intensity or passion. Great player but I don’t think he’s a leader at all
