Trouba has the worst hand eye i've seen in a player. Seems like he always misses his swing to settle the puck down and is absolutely surprised by it like his stick phased through the puck or something

He’s an excellent coach — as a teacher and as a tactician. He’s been accused of being dispassionate, and this inadequate for contenders, but I think that’s an unfortunate stigma that formed during his years with the Senators.
Dispassionate defensive hockey would at least be not getting f***ing dumpstered by the Sabres.

Sometimes there is a weaker draft-class, and there's nothing you can do about it. But Kakko was literaly breaking records in Finland. Won U18, U20 and mens World championships before getting drafted. Lafreniere was talked about being one of the best wingers in years, maybe one of the better Canadian players since McDavid.

Strangely, both have strugled the same way in NY and the NHL.

I didnt think either were referred to as weak draft years. Many people highly touted Lafreniere as a solid #1 overall pick.

Yet, he doesn't have the impact of a Matthews, McDavid [obviously], Eichel [#2], MacKinnon, etc.

Doesn't even look as impactful as Nugent Hopkins or Taylor Hall in their rookie seasons.

I was definitely hoping for more.

Kreider at the end of the bench. Johnson still plays ugh how about going with 5 defenseman. They would be better off

Preaching to the converted mate. I’ve been a longtime admirer of Martin’s. I can’t think of a coach who has developed as many star skaters as he has — in all positions.

It seems to me like both Kakko and Laf in previous levels usually drive the play of their lines. They skate the puck into the offensive zone and carry the offense. They dont need centers. Or didnt. They dont do this on the Rangers.

I was happy to give Jack Johnson some time to sort out his game. But he’s really grating on me. Passes are terrible and he doesn’t seem disciplined defensively.
