LA gut shutout by the Devils last night. Team better come out to play, if they come out like they did against Buffalo this is going to be an ugly loss.
Need some losses, to stem the pointless never-gonna-happen chatter, of surpassing numerous teams, with 10 or more points than NYR have, and sneaking into a wild card
Take losing streak into the road trip, be barely or below .500 when TDL in 2 weeks.
Stay the course.
Get maybe another top 10 and top 25 pick, develop the kids,
keep aiming to compete for real in fall'21, when
-many big $ contracts expire,
- expansion draft passes,
- new TV deal raises the Cap,
- Kappo, Fox, Shesty and many others arent newbies any more, Trouba, Bread, Zib still in their prime, Buch, ADA, Lemieux are more consistent and reliable
and begin another run of scary good seasons
I never root for NYR to lose, but for this little while, losses dont bother me like usual.
I know it sounds like a dumb way to be a fan, but if it leads to the team as a real contender for a bunch of years, i will be patient a while longer
