I’m stoked for the season. Hopefully they can keep up the strong regular season showing and get lots of wins in the Atlantic. I predict John Tavares will be ppg again haha.

With no change at all with the core 4, I predict more of the same from this Leafs team.

They will likely lose to teams they should easily beat, and win games against the top teams.

I see them continuing to NOT start games on time. I think they'll continue the habit of cruising through games, behind on the score board, only to turn on the jets late in the game. Playing hard, and for keeps from first puck drop, is just not in their DNA!

Keefe will continue to be out coached. Despite having some new coaches, the power play will be hot and cold. Usually cold when a goal is needed the most!

IMHO, our goal tending will still be of concern. Like Campbell before him, Samsonov has a penchant for allowing stinky goals at bad times.

With the Sens, Sabres, and yes even the Habs, getting better, our Leafs might have more of a struggle to easily make the playoffs. They might drop to being a wild card playoff team.

As for the playoffs, we shall see if an appearance in the 3rd round is in the cards. They sure laid a big egg in the 2nd round last season!

I really hope that I'm completely out to lunch on my predictions, however it will be up to our Leafs to prove me wrong. I hope they can show up against the Habs on opening night, and set a new and better trend from what we've seen from them in the past.

Yawn

Predict they get off to a slow start, coach having given AHLers and other players not destined for the big club too much pre-season play. A few deserved it, but I think coach went overboard.

The Leafs are known now, we're the modern day San Jose. We need to get over the playoff hump for anything to matter.

Matthews will be a top 3 goal scorer, Marner will be in the top 10 for points, we'll finish 1-4 in the east. But it doesn't matter, its all about what we do in the playoffs.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic, just my fire for the regular season has kind of dimmed due to the constant lack of intensity come playoff time. But it will be a good year. Go Leafs Go and all that.
