That period reminded me of Torts era Rangers.

I felt like the Pens didn’t get any quality chances, but had a lot of offensive zone time.

I yearn for the days of prime Callahan, Dubinsky, Lundqvist, Girardi, Gaborik and Staal. The nostalgia is real. That team had serious heart — and it started with the coach.

At this point Lindgren-Fox are playing about 2 minutes for every 1 that ADA and Smith are.

Most of the game has been even strength so this tells us a lot about non special teams TOI usage. I also think they're trying to keep the 3rd pairing away from both Malkin and Crosby.

No one working hard for the puck besides PDG and the 4th line.

No one shoots the puck.

No one drives to the net.

Everything is perimeter and it needs to be a spectacular and near perfect setup/opportunity

Pitt know we love that cross ice feed and they're taking it away so top 6 has no idea what to do. We need to play with more speed but thats not likely to happen.

Very weird to see complaining about dumping it in when they typically do very little of it in any sustained manner and frankly need to do it more often.

Im actually liking the small chip plays they are doing, the pens like to hold the line and its forcing them to back off our forwards or as with earlier take an interference penalty.

Miller helps but our defense was still better in game 1 and 2. We lost Staal and gained a JJ... I dont see how thats an excuse. I'd actually prefer Staal over JJ

I’m ok giving Howden some mins here. He’s played well should be at center ice.

I agree about Lafreniere, its really not doing him any good playing against the top lines in the league yet. Laf Howden Kakko see what happens.
