That is a franchise record folks. Kings got to 45 in 32 twice before.

2 goals or less in 17 straight is one too.

All while playing 3 goalies.

I know our standards are higher than they've ever been, but it's worth taking a minute to put what the Kings are doing this season in perspective. Pretty amazing.

I can still recall plenty of recent Kings squads where they would get off to a strong start in October & November. But when December would come around, the team would start to wilt. Even this current group of players has shown inconsistency in the regular season, leading to Terry Murray being fired 3 seasons ago. I find it interesting that rather than becoming a consistent winner through regular season improvement, the Kings have learned to become a consistent winner night in, night out by coming together around playoff success. Plus, I think the players have learned the value of home ice + less travel in the playoffs being an advantage.

It's a great time to be a Kings fan, that is for sure....no complaints here!

Everyone pulling their weight, the big-game players are playing like we expect (Doughty, Kopitar)....every goalie is playing like a Vezina candidate....the team is playing that possession style that made them look so good in the 2012 run, it's all good.

I'm expecting it to all come crashing down when we play CHI on Sun. ;-)

Don't forget the NHL record--no GA in the first period for 17 straight!

Cue someone to say we wouldn't have a new record without the OT/SO points.

This team has been absolutely dominate, and getting better most games (I wasn't overly impressed last night, but Toronto was really bringing it and we were on the 2nd of back-to-backs so it wasn't a huge issue). We are third in the league (and in the conference) and 2nd in the division and there's no reason to believe we can't catch the Ducks and Hawks. We may well be looking at the greatest ever LA Kings team in franchise history (maybe not on paper, but in terms of actual play).

Great time to be a Kings fan. Even if we do fall in the playoffs in the first or second round, I won't be overly upset (depending on who they lose to) because of how awesome the West as a whole is. That makes what LA is doing even more impressive, we are putting up franchise best numbers and are 10-5-2 against arguably the strongest conference the league has seen in a long time (at least the top eight or so teams).

I'll be happy with two points in two games on the upcoming B2B -- the team is past due for a streak of average results, whether or not they exhibit average PLAY. Something in the back of my mind has me suspecting the Kings lose horribly at Ottawa and sneak a shootout win in Chicago, just because that's NOT what's supposed to happen :) However, I'm making sure I remember that we're only 39% of the way through the season -- we have no clue who else is going to go down unexpectedly, whether ScriveJonesinza will come back to earth, whether Quick will be Quick when he returns, etc. I'm happy for where we are -- I'll be MUCH happier when that magic number ticks down to zero :)

Fire Sutter and Lombardi.

Trade the core. Start over and rebuild around Zykov, Prokhorkin, and Gravel.

:sarcasm:

I like to round up/down and I look at it as 50 points in 30 games. Holy crap. I hate math so someone else can do the numbers but what are we on pace for?

118 points. Same as Anaheim (we're percentage points "behind", and on pace for fewer ROW).

It is kind of odd to turn on a Kings game and not only expect a win but also expect elite goaltending no matter who the goalie is.

This and I don't know about anyone else if the kings are losing going into the third I expect them to always come back. This team really turns it on in the 3rd it seems.

The feeling of an impending kick to the nuts has become like a phantom lately.

The ScriveQuiJonesinza monster will consume all who oppose it!

Can we seriously combine all three of them? We can have a goalie who is very relaxed, composed while doing flips and splits, and spews f words in a drunken stupor after we win the Cup. Also very funny in Kings Vision's scoreboard features.

You guys are Killing me with all this positivity! Now I'm going to have to go read the EDM board to feel normal again!!!!

Edit: "Why is Eberle so lazy?" great read on the Oiler's board. Normality restored.
