Trap game. Second of back to back, on the road, after two emotional wins.
They were flat the 1st period against Florida, won't surprised me if they're flat for this game.
82 game season, games like this are hard to get up for.

82 game season, games like this are hard to get up for.

I don't know how it's a trap game when the opponent is better

I have no idea how CBJ is flirting with .500.
xGF 48.56% (24), HDCF 47.19% (24)
PP xGF/60: 7.96 (18)
PK xGA/60: 7.88 (13)
net STs -3 goals.
(GA- xGA)/60: +0.46
Average STs, bottom ten 5x5, bottom 5 goalie play.
Got to think regression to the mean will set in at some point.

Monohan (3rd leading scorer) is out for this game.

They did hit the jackpot with Dmitir Voronkov, #114-2019, 6'5 227
pre-draft VHL 50g 7-7 14, then 3 years in the KHL with lackluster production, breaks out at 22, but still nothing special. 78g (inc POs) 26-17 43.
Then comes over, 75g 18-16 34, this season 34g 17-13 30 +14. Go figure.

Marchenko #49-2018 was also a great find. 6'3 197
Another mediocre pre-draft, MHL 31g 8-8 16, PO 8g 3-4 7
MHL-VHL post-draft, then VHL-KHL D+2,
age 20-21, KHL 80g 27-21 48, solid but not signalling NHL quality
comes over at 22, tears up the AHL, gets promoted, 2 years later, 43g 18-29 47 +25

Either they have amazing Russian scouts who can project four years out or they're awfully lucky.
What makes their performance even more impressive is they're centered by Fantilli (#3), who has really struggled this season, though he's playing better lately.

The other three lines really suck, especially with Monohan, Jenner and Chinakov out.
Sillinger (#12) and Johnson (#5) are disappointments on a second line with our old friend JVR.
The defense is solid, anchored by Werenski, Provorov and Stevenson.

the barrel facing backwards is peak Flyers..

this AI is always throwing shade at the team and im here for it..

Monahan has been their center up until his injury. Fantilli was promoted to Monahan's spot between those two, which is why you probably see a positive spike from him in the past week.

Tortorella's new shot blocking drill?

I haven’t seen a game in like 2 weeks. But did I miss at some point Farabee end up in the dog house?

He has sat for two games, and while I haven't had a chance to dig for current updates the "CHANGE NOTHING" rule after a win and in back to back is always strong

I wouldn't call it the "dog house." Torts made it clear he wasn't unhappy with Farabee and that it wasn't putative. Farabee was in a funk and he wanted to give him a couple games to clear his head and to take a look at Lycksell.

The trap to avoid is believing this team is going to rise above bubble team at any time under their current management.
