i'm not going to lose hope in gauthier considering who his linemates have been this season. and he continues to get plenty of chances. just needs to finish them

would be amazing if he scored one tonight

I'm not too worried about Gauthier. He's looked more dangerous but a little less productive than I thought going into the season. I also didn't think he'd spend that much time on lines without other higher end players (when he wasn't playing with Carlsson/Zegras/McTavish/Terry) and that he'd get more PP time. Before he broke out, I said Terry looked dangerous... he knew everything up until that last step to get the puck into the net (one more move, shoot quicker, pass... whatever the last decision was). Cutter and Carlsson a little behind that step but are significant younger than Terry was at the time and have their moments of looking dangerous. As they get older, stronger, more confident, and learn those last couple of steps (what they should do, what they can and can't do against NHL competition), those pucks will start going into the net. The question is how many points they'll put up, but if they'll be NHL players at this point.

I think Cutters had a nice season. He’s looked better than Carlsson/McT/Zegs. He has a lot of good shifts whereas those guys just haven’t been nearly as consistent shift-to-shift.

We’re a very low scoring team so everybody is gonna have their stats depressed, even guys playing well (Terry would put up big numbers on a good team)

Cutter's one of our better looking young skaters, I don't really have concerns with him. Not everyone walks into the league as a consistent finisher. He'll be fine. He's playing the NHL game the right way this past month or so. That was the biggest concern at the start of the year, that he just looked lost and ineffective. I'll take the improvement as it is now.

I still think Cutter would benefit from 5-10 games down in SD. I'm not sure that he benefits by just grinding it out at the NHL level for the season. A goal scorer needs to score goals. Let him regain some confidence in his shot and beat AHL level goalies (many of whom are NHL caliber but without a roster spot atm).

Why? So he can watch one Flyer take a run at Cutter and throw down with a different player in a staged fight off a faceoff?
Send a Ducks fan to fight one of their fans, same result.

I personally choose
