Yinzer bias aside, Cleveland is not a bad town at all. Stayed there a few days this past summer and at least the areas I saw were clean, pleasant, and well-planned. 'Lumbus was okay too except the fact that OSU is there and they can EAD.

Here again, is where I age myself by saying I played against Umberger in the PIHL back when I was in 10th grade and he was in 8th playing for Plum.

We’re not playing our best available wingers in the top six with that lineup…Kap has been really ineffective and he deserves to spend some time on L3…I wish Sully would give a shot to Heinen and ERod with Geno…since G is shooting well, give him some players who’ll win a board battle and get him the puck…I actually like ERod carrying the puck on that line, gives G a break, can take FOs too

Erod has been really quiet lately. I suppose some comedown after his earlier hot play was to be expected but I hope he regains some of that form soon.

All I want is to see this team tighten up defensively, somehow.

As far as Ohio, I've only ever been to Toledo and it was depressing and bleh. Someone close to me lives near Cincinnati now, but I still know nothing about it.

Blueger at LW is something we should explore, especially with Zucker out.

I think he could become a good complementary 2-way winger to use up and down the line-up.

I don't think any of our other Cs would do nearly as well with his usage, and that as a result it would make the whole line up worse.

yeah but if one of those guys needs to play in the top six I prefer ERod to Carter on wing…

Eh. I'm a little sour on ERod there after it didn't work with Sid.

Honestly, I think Sully's got it right. Maybe Kapanen isn't doing so hot, but him and Malkin is a partnership whose previous highs warrants a lot of patience, and I like ERod and Carter together.

I went to HS with a kid who had an Umberger OSU jersey who played with him at some low level.

As for Ohio I've only been to CBus and Cleveland, with plenty of visits to the latter. It's really not so different/worse than PGH as most like to pretend. A fine noble city

Every line but Blueger’s is in the negative over this 5 game sample.

Seems a little different than every line not succeeding.

I think Sullivan and the team is adjusting to having a healthy roster so blaming Carter or Malkin for Rodrigues’ fall off is wrong.

All the lines have underperformed in the five game sample since Malkin’s return besides Blueger’s.

Ah with you.

Holy shit, I hadn't realised Blueger was at a +5 over the last 5 games. Beast Mode Bloogs.

Yeah, this team is having its classic post-star return slump, and I think things will look a little different a bit down the line.

That said, I do think ERod's looked different as a line driver to being a complimentary piece above and beyond this.

I think with Carter he is looking like a line driver. He was not leading the rush with Sid while Rust was out last two games he’s been way more responsible for that aspect.

Bluegs has been our best player on this trip no question, his line brings a little bit of stability, last night I wanted to see them 20+ minutes, that was the only time we kept the puck in their OZone (except when he had Letang and Dumolin behind), We super need him to play Center, no question about that, the beauty of that is you can use complementary wings and still have success, which should give Sully ability to move wingers up and down the line up

I think you’re seeing what actual size adds to Blueger and McGinn’s game versus ZAR being an analytic darling.

I’d throw a significant asset to pull Nick Paul out of Ottawa.

Eh. Blueger is outstanding right now at C. Not sure that makes sense.

Reality is Carter and Blueger are just better than Rodrigues at C for what we need.

I don't think any of our other Cs would do nearly as well with his usage, and that as a result it would make the whole line up worse.

All I can say is that I think it's worth a shot.

We're long on centers and short on wingers who are both smart and skilled enough to work on Malkin's LW. Blueger's doing well at 4C, but playing on the 4th line also blunts his impact.

If ERod struggles with increased d-zone starts, then we know that's not an option for him moving forward and we can always switch back.
