My buddy told me before the game started that he put $10 on Binnington before the tournament started for MVP. Paid $440, he was robbed IMO.

I disagree I don't think he was robbed.

Yes Binner was GREAT tonight, especially in OT.

But It's tournament MVP

Not Final MVP

Up until tonight Binner was kind of dog shit.

Sid and Mack were great.

What an amazing tournament! Get the best players in the world putting on their country's colors and it turns into one of the best tournaments outside of the Olympics! Didn't expect much out of this, but man did it deliver and then some. 😀😀😀

Hats off to the NHL for putting this tournament on and hats off for them in getting NHL players back into the Olympics so that we can see the best players representing their countries in the international tournament that matters the most. :handclap::handclap::handclap:

So was it Hagel that injured M Tkachuk ? I heared it was groin and that could have happened as Hagel was completing his take down victory. (I didnt know Hagel could fight)

Win or lose, this was one of the best little tournaments the NHL has ever created. A bit of a lucky draw with whatever is going on out there that created a bigger thing that made it a fun special thing to watch. The players bought in and the fans made it even better.

At my beer league game tonight, both teams had the game in OT on their bench. We all stopped to celebrate the goal.

Thousand times better than any all-star game. NHL hit a marketing home run with this one.

AMs blown coverage left McJesus wide open.

But he played a good game all round
The Matthews line was also pretty much the only USA line regularly threatening Canada. Your right, he blew the coverage a bit, but overall he was the best american player today IMO.
- 2x primary assists
- Multiple key defensive plays and forced a few turnovers in the American zone.
- Involved in multiple chances to score/assist the game winner in OT which were mostly nice saves by Binner.
- One slightly blown coverage which I think was partially a miscommunication given the dman pulled back at the same time Matthews started to try and re-adjust.

The above sounds like a pretty damn good game... One of our Leafs had to lose today, but I'm glad they both turned in player of the match worthy performances. In fact, I really think the 3 stars should've been:
1 - Binnington
2 - Marner
3 - Matthews

False. Binner was the best shot Canada had because Canada simply is not strong in goaltending. It just is.

Binner came in and did exactly what was expected out of him, from Sweden to USA.

Helly has the best numbers in the league, some Canadian randoms this year have better numbers as well, but Binner was chosen to close out games while we leverage our muscle through superstar power to win games.

He did exactly that. Great f***ing tournament for him. Dude is made of ice.

Jack Hughes kinda sucks though. Matthews and Freak Tkachuk were a handful.

We heard you love hockey, so we put a hockey game in your hockey game. But seriously, that's awesome.
